i have been eating here for years but today i just had such a rude encounter with what i believe is their new, pig-tail wearing, waitress. She was clearly lacking the experience it takes to be a waitress during the busy hours. She gave my mother and then surprisingly me(!) attitude and glares for us simply expecting our food to come out all together like it normally does, not what must’ve been ten minutes apart. At least the food is still good ?.

I haven't been here in a while and was excited to get an egg and cheese sandwich here again. However, I ordered an egg and cheese with cheddar cheese and got American cheese which couldn't be more different. I'm really disappointed.

Not a very personable experience, Decent food but a bit pricey and you order from a kiosk that asks if you’d like to leave a tip. Who am I tipping and why? We had our food brought to the table, the girl then told us where we could get our condiments, salt/pepper, creamer, etc. No waters, Nothing brought to us AND we had to clear our own table. Very weird. I look forward to going to the restaurants in Groton, not so much this establishment.

Blackbird cafe was great! You order from your phone and they are extremely efficient. We had a really lovely breakfast sandwich and coffees - the cappuccino was delicious! They also were very accommodating when I asked for a Togo cup to finish the coffee as we headed out. Great spot !
Three visits over three weeks a total disaster. More often then not lately we end up leaving without our orders. They struggle with POS system. Ever since they've expended they've gone downhill.

**Blackbird Cafe - 3 Stars**
Blackbird Cafe left much to be desired, starting with their digitized front desk, which replaced any real customer service in an effort to save on labor. I was asked for a tip before receiving any service, only to realize there wasn't much service to begin with. To make things worse, the food arrived at different times, completely disregarding the dining experience. The food itself was disappointing—the avocado sandwich came with cold bread, a spread instead of real avocado, and wilted, warm lettuce. Overall, it felt more like a missed opportunity than an enjoyable meal.

Solid 4.5 stars! Good atmosphere inside, feels like a nice local Cafe. Ordering tablets are a really nice touch, don't see that very often.
Food was good! I think I prefer Marty's for breakfast burritos but Blackbird has better menu variety.
No outdoor seating we could find which was a bummer. But we had a good experience overall.
Vegetarian options: Vegetarian food is easy to find as it's mostly breakfast food and eggs. They have some vegan stuff too.
Dietary restrictions: Very easy to modify order with the tablets as needed
Parking: Good parking, didn't have trouble finding a spot.
Wheelchair accessibility: Yup!

Staff are polite but the atmosphere is not very personable. Sandwiches are over priced for the size and quality (we had to check for cheese on a caprese sandwich). I guess takeout also no longer comes with chips or pickle? The flavor was good - Kids loved the grilled cheese.
$80 for four sandwiches and four fruit smoothies. I understand everything is pricey these days and I’m happy to pay $13-15 for a sandwich, I just wish the size and quality was better.
It’s unfortunately not how I remembered it.

Went in, got a table, ordered and waited for over half an hour. Finally asked and was told the order never went thru. Showed the email receipt and the order suddenly showed up. No apology for the error either. Got refund and left to never come back again.

I ordered a turkey panini from the Groton location. I opened at home and there was absolutely no turkey in the sandwich, not even a slice. I called the customer service line, which the woman took 5 minutes just to confirm my name and order. She then indicated someone will call me back and no other details. This place is a joke.

You walk in and are greeted by…a kiosk! No one staffs the front.
You order.
You wait.
Someone comes and gives you food.
The food looks good but it is pretty pricy. I considered an egg sandwich which would have been about $15 (did add a tomato for .75 and onion for .75), and decided to just get tea.
My iced tea was $5.
Then it asks for a tip, which…when you have zero interaction with a human the entire time, I see no reason to tip!
I really despise this type of layout. They use MEM tea, which is good. A person did call my name when the tea was ready, so I guess there’s that. But I had no one to ask “is it sweetened or unsweetened?” Or “do you have stevia? I’d like one stevia please.”
And I come to small town cafes for the purpose of feeling cozy and warm and welcomed, and you can’t have that when a kiosk is all that greets you.
Just made me sad.
There is a ramp down so it is accessible and handicapped parking so right out front.
Smells delicious inside, and the food looks good on the menu, just pricy and less human interaction than I would like.

Food was okay but you pay a surcharge on credit card payments which seems to be the only way to pay thanks to the kiosks when you enter. The food was way over priced. $11 for my wife to get one waffle! And $13 for three pancakes, which were way too dense and not light and fluffy. And they make you pay for additional syrup. I like a lot of syrup on my pancakes or waffles. And they do have free water but you serve yourself and they don’t actually tell you that. And the syrup is small packets. I honestly felt nickel and dimed. And you have to bus your own table which is fine in a fast food or Panera but not at a cafe where I ordered a full meal. Honestly the food I get at my local diner near my house is half the price and waaaaaaay better. The few staff members we interacted with didn’t greet us, didn’t see if we needed anything, and one had the personality of wet paint. Would not eat here again.

I visited Blackbird Cafe in Groton, MA, with my kids on Father's Day. Despite being busy, the wait for our food was understandable. The atmosphere was pleasant, but ordering at a kiosk instead of speaking with a human being felt impersonal.
I ordered the Ranchero breakfast sandwich, which was tasty, especially the sauce. However, I was disappointed to find scrambled eggs instead of the fried egg I was looking forward to. The waitress kindly offered to replace it, but after waiting, I decided to eat it as is. On the bright side, I tried my daughter's goat cheese scramble, and it was delicious—very fluffy and flavorful.
Overall, it was a good experience, and I would give them another try in the future.

Since going with automated type ordering and call center taking calls, it's lost something for me. Had breakfast burritos today and the food was good, but while ordering ahead we forgot to change pickup time and realized right away. Tried to call the Groton location to change time but all you get is a call center who takes 15 minutes to" forward a message". Apparently they didn't get the message because our by the time we arrived.
I'm sure the kiosk ordering and call service helps them remain competitive but the experience loses something for me
