Don't pass this place by. Beautiful steaks and seafood, but they carry everything from oxtail to chicken and duck legs to ribs and bratwurst to smoked ham hocks and soup bones. You won't be disappointed.

Ordered a chicken salad take out. The chicken was tasty and the sandwich was fresh. It was large enough to split as there is a generous amount of chicken salad in the wrap. The staff was friendly and even the patrons are, one moved to the door to hold it open for me! Maybe a future trip I'll be able to browse around and check out the actual butcher shop portion.

Not only is this place quaint and knowledgeable about their meats, their sandwiches and sodas are wicked tasty, too! I had an Egg Salad, the partner a Chicken Bomb. We each grabbed chips and sodas as well. Keep on doing what you're doing; may you stay for many, many more years!

I do not often give 4 stars. The place has to be phenomenal. Enough said! Only complaint is that their chicken salad (the mixed kind with mayo, not lettuce salad), is so unbelievably good that no matter how much they make, they run out. Steak & Cheese subs are great, chicken, bacon & ranch sub is excellent (not sure if that's even on the menu). They have fresh soup year round (think year round). I also get my chicken breast, Hamburg, steaks etc here on occasion. I also sometimes call ahead to pre-order cole cuts by the pound. They are the one place in the area that ALWAYS cuts them the way I ask. They know what "thin" actually means. Everyone is so kind. My favorite establishment in Groton

Great little butcher shop, got an Italian sub someone was getting Chilli while me and my brother were there. It smelled so good had to get a cup, all of our food was absolutely delicious, service was top notch. Definitely will be a regular here from now on!! Thank you country butcher!!

We had ordered quarts of chili and the Shrimp Chowder yesterday to bring home for lunch today. The chili was amazing per my husband and not too spicy. The chowder was very good too. First time having Shrimp Chowder and I def will order it again. We definitely will be ordering again and trying some of their other items next time.

The soups are ridiculously good. I just had some pea soup that was mind blowing. And the sandwiches are over stuffed and all excellent. I just finished a corned beef sandwich that was to die for. If you are in the area, you owe it to yourself, to drop by The Country Butcher, and sample their wares. You won’t be disappointed.
