We are an entertainment service company that specializes in small ensemble/DJ combos. We performed at our first wedding at The Herb Lyceum in early October and were blown away. First of all, the garden and grounds are LOVELY, the food is OUTSTANDING and the staff were all WONDERFUL. Everyone there was friendly and professional, and truly allowed us to do what we do best, and we felt fully supported to do our jobs. Often with outdoor venues, we have issues with power, but not here! We had ample power for the ceremony, dinner reception and the dance party under the tent, running some heavy wattage sound and lights. We very much look forward to coming back to do more events in the future!

I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about the Herb Lyceum. My now-husband and I went to a farm dinner to check out the grounds and try the food, and we immediately knew it was where we wanted to get married! Tavis was our coordinator and was so lovely to work with on our Lord of the Rings inspired wedding; she, Ryan, Derek, Ariel, and all the staff were patient with answering our questions, helped make our ideas come to life, and were always kind & welcoming whenever we stopped by. Three weeks before our wedding, there was a devastating fire at the HL carriage house that destroyed their kitchen. Despite the grief that the Gilson family and staff were feeling over the loss of a beloved & historic piece of their property, they were nothing but reassuring in our conversations following the fire and kept us updated on the work being done to make the grounds safe and usable. When they got the green light to still host our wedding, we were overjoyed! They worked with us to pivot elements of the day that needed relocating and were able to provide the full food and beverage service that we had planned. On our wedding day, Tavis and the staff made the day run so smoothly. And the food!! HL is farm-to-table and our wedding dinner was served family style – all of our guests walked away full and happy and are STILL talking about how amazing the food was. I could go on and on but the bottom line is, HL is an incredibly special place and their team is professional & caring; you can tell they love what they do and they will do everything in their power to help you have the wedding of your dreams. We had our wedding at the Herb Lyceum last year! It was a beautiful venue the food was wonderful and the garden was beautiful. The staff were also kind and very welcoming to us and our guests. The only part which I would say looses a star would be coordination we definitely had to take most of this on our selves which luckily my husband’s very organized. Venue does have a day of coordinator but I would say it’s best just to get your own wedding planner to ensure everything’s as smooth as possible day of. But honestly my wedding was the best day of my life to date and I would 100% recommend them for your wedding or event :)

We have lived in the area all of our lives and we finally made it to dinner here. All I can say is what an amazing meal and total experience. A truly remarkable dining experience you won't be sorry.
We had an amazing dinner with our group of 7ppl. Food and service was top notch. Was so saddened by the fire that happened a couple of days after our visit😥

We had a great meal at Herb Lyceum. It's a great atmosphere-the grounds are beautiful and the building is rustic and filled with interesting items. The food was great, the chef came and explained each course and the waitstaff was helpful and interesting.

Dinner was amazing, the grounds were beautiful, so nice to walk around before dinner and see the open grill where food was cooking. Wait staff was friendly and efficient and the chefs gave descriptions of each course. The swordfish main, the pork app and corn ice cream were imo the stars of the show but the whole thing was really perfect. Not a single complaint.

We booked tickets online without difficulty; website was very easy to follow. The rustic farm venue was exactly what we expected. The carriage house is not large but holds the tables just fine. If you do not like eating with people you don't know either reserve the whole table or don't bother. We found it extremely enjoyable as everyone was friendly, talkative, and polite. The food was over the top. I've eaten at Michelin star restaurants all over the world and this was just as good. If you're going to have a small gathey it's going to be in the carriage house, anything over that is in the greenhouse. You're going to be outside a fair bit, on grass and gravel... It's a farm. Dress appropriately, wear flats, and remember it's an old carriage house and outdoor venue. Will book again
