Montilios Baking Co. Hanover

I won’t keep flushing my money away at this bakery. The desserts look magazine worthy. But the taste and quality is awful. Don’t be fooled. My husband had an eclair today. Not only was the chocolate frosting hard the taste was bland and it was so large it was hard to eat. It fell apart completely inedible.

4 cannolis 24$$$ and they were empty in the middle. Rip off don't go to this place!!! Awful.

Just left Montilio’s drove an hour to get a gift card. They don’t have any gift cards activated and refused to activate one for me even after I told them I drove an hour one-way to get this gift for my elderly mother. Won’t be back anytime soon.

Last month I ordered an Italian Rum Cake for a birthday dinner. This is our family’s traditional birthday cake and Montilio’s has a good one. Unfortunately, the cake looked like a rum cake on the outside but was in fact a strawberry cake when cut. I called the store the next day and reported the problem. They were very responsive and offered a $25 credit on the cake. I don’t live near Hanover and asked if I could get a $25 refund instead. They were going to check and get back to me. Never heard from them again. It so happens that I was going to be in the area last week and called to check if my credit was available. It was not. I asked to speak to the manager I had spoken to previously and was told to call back the next day, which I did. I was told it was busy and to call back the next day. I opted to leave my name and number and requested a call back when it wasn’t busy. Three days later and I never received a call. I can understand that mistakes happen and that they don’t owe me anything. However, they should not have offered a credit if they did not keep their word. No more Montilio’s cakes for our family.

Let’s be honest…. I could care less if the service was terrible and the atmosphere was terrible because the desserts and pastries I get there make me forget all the awful things in the world! But luckily, every aspect of Montilio’s is just as good as their products! And their products are DELICIOUS!!

Really great baked goods! The employees were friendly as well.

They add a fee to your purchase if you pay with credit card. There is no sign. Beware of this theft. Next they will add a 20% tip without telling customers.Shameful !

They have a sign posted near their register that they will charge you ****% on credit card purchases. However if you elect to pay with cash they will discount your purchase by ****%. I used a debit card, they charged me ****% more, even though it was being directly from my account. The gentleman who purchased a pizza and paid cash was not given a discount? According to their sign, either way they are making extra money on every sale. His small $7.99 cheese pizza cost him almost $12.00. During the time I was waiting for my order I watched this practice multiple times. Overcharging on debit purchases and no discount on the cash sales.I would never go there again, BEWARE.
