The wine itself is pretty good. We ordered two slushes and a tasting. While other tables received descriptions of the wines and had glasses rinsed, our server seemed as if he was interested in getting us out of there as quickly as possible. Profoundly and pointedly unwelcoming, I would not recommend going here unless you visibly fit the mold of their ideal consumer. We would have purchased a bottle had it not been for the disrespect. If you want a welcoming, friendly experience I would recommend Devil’s Purse Brewing in Dennis.

TL;DR I do not recommend this place to anyone who is new to wine tasting, who is visibly queer, or who is looking to have a pleasant, informative, and NON-JUDGMENTAL tasting experience.I am saddened to leave a negative review for this winery. Normally, I prefer to abide by the maxim “If you have nothing nice to say, then say nothing.” Unfortunately, however, my partner and I had a negative enough experience in this establishment that I felt it could be useful to other people to share. My partner and I felt rather unwelcome as soon as we entered the space. We were looking forward to visiting because we have biked past this place every year on our annual Cape trip, but have never had the opportunity to check it out. We finally had a chance, but when we came in we weren’t quite sure where to go for service. One of the folks who worked there stood in front of us and seemed to sort of block our way—the way you might stand in front of a child to prevent them from seeing something. It felt very condescending and a bit passive aggressive. We found our seats and knew we wanted to try the wine slushies—we had seen them advertised extensively in the bike trail and they seemed like a novel and fun thing to try. However, we were also interested in tasting the wines they had on offer. It felt as if as soon as we ordered the slushies we were judged and dismissed as customers. I can’t understand the logic of advertising these slushies so widely and loudly and then dismissing someone so quickly for ordering one. But that was only the beginning. It should also be said that my partner and I are queer people. We are visibly pierced and tattooed. We often stand out in different settings on the Cape from other customers and this is noticeable, however we usually do not experience treatment that is different from others around us. This was NOT the case at First Crush. I do not want to accuse anyone of prejudice, but this feels important to mention. A table of six who more visibility fit the description of “Cape tourists” was seated next to us and began their tasting around the time we began ours. When they expressed interest in the tasting, they were immediately greeted by a person who explained a bit about the winemaking process at the winery. She talked about the origin and shipment of the grapes, and explained a good rule of thumb for what order to try the wines in. My partner and I did NOT receive this useful introduction when we expressed interest in a tasting. We had a different person serving us, which could’ve been part of the issue. He did not guide us through the tasting process. He did not offer any information about the wines, which I would’ve been really excited to receive. He did not even rinse our glass between wines, which surprised me and which I saw the other server offering to the adjacent table. He also sometimes would not even speak to us, he would just point to our glass to ask what we wanted next. It felt as if he wanted us out of the space as quickly as possible.I am new to wine tasting, but I have recently been learning about wine as a hobby. I have a lot of tasting knowledge through my interest in coffee and beer, and I was looking forward to learning more about wine and seeing how this differs from my experiences with beer and coffee. I was also looking forward to getting hands on experience with wine tasting which, up until now, I had only been learning about through reading and watching sommeliers online. Sadly, I absolutely cannot recommend this winery to folks who are new to (but excited about) wine. I didn’t learn anything new.Wine tasting is supposed to be an experience and unfortunately my experience at First Crush was very negative. I felt judged, condescended to, and ultimately dismissed in this setting—perhaps because I don’t visibly fit the mold of their ideal customer. I enjoyed some of the wines and would’ve bought a bottle, but I did not want to give this establishment any more of my money.

The experience was comically unpleasant from the start the morning of we called and were told no reservations , we walked in with 5 people for a Bach party with our own food looking for a tasting and we were told very aggressively “ I told you on the phone no food!” . Apparently this rule is per the health department .We were very puzzled because we had not even talked to anyone about food on the phone. We were just told no reservations . When we arrived we were told they cannot seat us because we did not have a reservation but we were allowed to stand at a C shaped high top table outside in 100 degree weather. We were not permitted to sit down even though one of us is 7 months pregnant. Next, we were subjected to a giant cloud of black smoke from a mini pick up truck leaving the neighboring storage unit. The cloud engulfed our outdoor seating area.(seems like that would be a bigger concern for the health department) To cap it all off when I went into pay and purchase a bottle of wine and our tastings I was scolded from across the store for picking up a bottle of wine on a display shelf with several other bottles that I intended to purchase. Will not go back, however the Sauvignon Blanc was really good

Owners were great and very nice! They recommended the turbo wine slushy. Would definitely recommend it on a hot day!

Ended up ordering two tastings, got the first, then the owner left the table never to return after 15 minutes we called it a day, the place is located in a parking lot. A truck was running right next to our table causing noise and smells, recommend you avoid this place if at all possible unless your goal is just to order a bottle then depart…

Went in with four people, sat right away. We ended up getting 3 tastings and I got a glass of wine. After our server changing three times through the tasting and a couple more glasses of wine, we paid the 200$ bill and two of us decided to get a case of wine. Paid 20$ extra for four “premium” bottles. The other two people got a bottle and some glasses. 1000$ total for the table. Franks wife comes back after not serving us for an hour, grabs our copy of the check and notices two glasses of wine missing. We hadn’t even noticed and I assume frank had knocked them off the bill because we bought 2 350$ cases. He said nothing and she acted as if we had lied to him about our order. I should have not bought the case right there but I was blindsided. Then I get home and the premium Cabernet which I paid extra for, was just the regular Cabernet with franks signature. There is two different Cabernets on the menu that I had glasses of. Great experience absolutely ruined at the end by greed and dishonesty. I would not recommend wasting time here unless you want to get ripped off.

My sister and I took our 92 year old mother there for a wine tasting. They were very accommodating for my mother and her walker. I was a bit surprised with the location but hey, I’m there for the wine and not the other businesses in the complex. The décor was nice and includes a nice collection of vintage corkscrews. They bring the grapes in from California to make their wines. The service was excellent and the choice of wines was very nice. All three of us really liked the Chardonnay and the Zinfandel the best. I ended up buying 4 bottles of the Zin. Get to this place soon as they will be closing at the end of this season so the owners can enjoy their retirement and family.

It was in a parking lot with a mechanic building first of all. Second they served their “cheese board” on a paper plate not cut with the cheese and crackers in a packages that we had to cut. So stupid that they made us cut our own board and only included cheese and a few crackers on a PAPER PLATE. Don’t get me wrong George was always asking if we were ok but the whole place was not a good vibe for a bachelorette party that they knew about.

I love that this place brings in their grapes from California. It creates a nice flavor profile. Only disappointment was that they were out of a few wines and limited pours on another. But since it was the end of the season, that makes sense.

We had a wine tasting for a bachelorette party with Frank and we had the BEST time. The wines were delicious and Frank was amazing and educational during the testing. Thanks for taking great care of us!

Our family reserved a wine tasting. Upon arrival, we were told that he considered it an event and steeply up-charged us per person. When my cousin tried speaking with him, he was extremely rude and impolite. Very disappointed by his customer service. In addition, they place did not even look or feel like a winery. Would not recommend.

They transformed the space into a very winery. Had an outdoor area aa well.. Loved their wines. Great display of antique corkscrews.

We were trying to get there from the rail trail which is very close. When we pulled into the lot we thought we were in the wrong place, but once you stepped inside the winery it was really cool the way they had it decorated. The hosts were wonderful and knowledgeable and the wine was great! We ordered a cheese plate and the wine tasting that we ordered came with a large delicious chocolate coated shortbread cookie.

The experience was just lovely!! Many delicious selections. The decorations were outstanding!

We always visit First Crush when we are on the Cape. Frank and Diane are very welcoming and clearly enjoy what they do. The wines are nice. We tried slushy's for the first time yesterday..... delicious!
