We enjoy Mooncusser's because they have a varied menu which they're always changing up. We have also had exceptional service, which keeps us coming back.

Opentable Diner

We had a lovely surprise when we tried this restaurant. The food was perfectly cooked, the server was attentive and we had a very nice dinner. We'll be back and bring friends!

A cozy but somewhat sprawling old New England building. We sat in the rather rustic bar room, with low ceilings, lots of wood panelling, and a fireplace. Our server was excellent, very friendly, and really did a great job of taking care of our needs. The biggest surprise was the food. Since this is billed as a tavern, we expected something more akin to standard bar fare. Therefore the prices seemed a little steep, until we actually ate. The mussels as a starter were delicious and clearly very fresh, and we saved the broth for the entire meal, with plenty of bread to finish it off. The pork chop was outstanding and unique, and nowhere near being dry. The sea bass special was equally delicious. A bit crowded and noisy, but in a fun, hanging out in a bar sort of way. We looked in at the slightly more formal dining room, which also looked lovely. Overall, a great Cape Cod spot that exceeded expectations.

Phenomenal!!! We were a party of 7. Annie provided a small private dining room. Lisa provided fast, friendly, professional service. The kitchen provided a creative menu and meals enjoyed by all. And, Uncle Bob picked up the tab. We couldn't ask for more!!

Service was great but food was average. Nice setting in the hotel. Looked like a nice bar area.

Excellent meal in a traditional tavern style venue. We had halibut and a pork chop. Both were delightful. Waitstaff was very attentive. The menu has more “exotic” options with rabbit, venison, ext. Dress was casual. Almost all adults in the tavern section.

This is our favorite restaurant on the cape. Took another couple for their first visit, they loved it! I had the duck for probably the tenth time, it was the best one yet.

Four of us dined here for the first time on 9/10/25. We were greeted very warmly and seated in the dining room. Our server was Jackie, who was very knowledgeable about the drink and menu choices, and was very attentive throughout the evening. We started with the hummus platter and the Brussels sprout appetizers. Both were excellent! For entrees, we selected the venison bolognese special, the salmon dish, and two steak frites. One of the steaks was served with truffle fries, and the other with regular fries. The temperature of the steak was done perfectly. For dessert, we shared two of the brownie and ice cream plates. The brownie was huge, perfect for sharing. Our evening was wonderful, with excellent food in a historic very comfortable setting, served by a very knowledgeable server. We will definitely be back!

Staff are great - friendly and accommodating. Venue is rustic yet charming. Cocktails are spirit forward! The food lacks flavor and balance.

We ate here earlier in August and everything was perfect. Last night it wasn't. The busy summer season is pretty much over. Seating options were either outside on the patio or in the Tavern section. The main dining area appeared to be be not available. Because of evening chill we opted for inside. The Tavern noise level was totally unacceptable. One could barely hear the conversation ant our table. It seems to me that they could use some sound proofing technics like having drapes on the windows, etc. I know that dining areas that also house the bar area, can get loud. It was too bad that we weren't offered the other dining area. The noise really put a damper on what would having been a perfect dining experience, including all of our meals and the service.

Very pleasant experience. The service is attentive. The setting is classic with white table cloth. The menu is not large which means that it is carefully crafted and every item we tried (5 of them) were excellent. The wine list is well priced and has a good selection. I will obviously go back.

We started with the Gambia shrimp appetizer which were absolutely delicious in a very light tomato based sauce and garlic. We both had the duck dinner which was crisp and tender with a blackberry gastric. I must say that the food was Devine but what made this an above 5 Star restaurant was the welcome feeling as we walked through the door, our waitress who was as sweet as could be and the flow of the entire dinner. If you want a wonderful meal with outstanding hospitality you come here!

Probably, the best niçoise in my life, perfect quality raw tuna. All the food was great. Number one in my list for our next visits to Cape Cod.

We had a very delicious dinner - the burgers, Arrabiata pasta and halibut were all delicious. Service was great as well - very attentive and prompt. We ate in the tavern side which is a great space but definitely hard to hear when it's full. Short of that, we enjoyed our experience and will certainly be back!
