We love the old Dennis location so much as a family tradition, but as we moved lower on the Cape this one has the same great product and service!

Quintessential summer ice cream stand in a lovely setting in a beautiful downtown Harwich Port.
The lines for peak summer traffic can be pretty long. They are worth it.

Ever since they changed owners, this place has gone severely downhill. The inside is gutted, ugly, and FILTHY...what happened to the piano and pictures on the inside? They took all the personality away... Outside, the tables are always dirty and the trash is always overflowing. The staff seems to be getting slower and slower as well... it's frustrating to watch your servers chat with each other instead of making your ice cream while you've been waiting in line for 45 minutes. The good news is that while the prices have skyrocketed, the ice cream still tastes the same and remains to be good...for now.

If long lines are any indication of good food then this place has the best ice cream on the cape. This place is popular and for good reason. Their hot fudge sundaes are incredible. That hod fudge sundae sauce is the perfect blend of sweetness and chocolate and it’s the perfect texture. It’s so good. My son got the banana split and we also got a sundae with peanut butter sauce that was delicious. If you are in the area, don’t miss out on dessert here.

Parking: The parking lot around the place is really big but it does fill up.

Such a cute spot to grab ice cream in the summer! There seems to always be a line, so get ready to wait - but definitely worth it.

This place is popular. It’s almost like there aren’t enough ice cream shops on Cape Cod. They do make good ice cream. I wish they got more creative with flavors. Most all the options are some version of vanilla or chocolate with various mix-ins. Those that stray from that are also pedestrian flavors like strawberry, peppermint or a nut like maple nut.
Sure it tastes fine, but it’s not very memorable. It’s good quality, don’t get me wrong.
After standing in that line, I wish I could look forward to something unique, however. Then I would rave about this place.
I had ice cream at six different shops by four brands in the week I visited the area, and I rank this as third best ice cream out of four, but it’s not far from number two. The rank order is 1- E&M, 2-JPL, 3- Sundae School 4-SHIC
I will give massive kudos for the fact they take plastic! Note to other ice cream shops: nobody carries cash anymore, you’re hurting your employees tips, and your in-shop atms are a gross way to get a kickback from the atm fees. Thank you Sundae School for doing business in the modern age!

Best ice cream!

To crowded, I don’t know why they closed down the inside service area. Also our server forgot two orders, even after writing them down. Been coming to sundae school for 20 years and back in the day they ran a tighter ship.

On a more positive note their homemade ice cream was amazing. I highly recommend their grasshopper with marshmallow sundae.

Great place to stop while strolling Harwich Port, we biked there, plenty of outdoor seating. Homemade ice cream and homemade whipped cream, lots of great flavors.

Best ice cream on Cape Cod! I've been coming here for ice cream since I was a kid, and nothing else compares. Creamy, full of toppings, and one of the few places you can get ginger and coconut.
