I'm embrassed to say I have been living in Haverhill since 2018 and always drove by this place and never went in. It's kinda intimidating at first. Definitely a Haverhill local spot. However they don't make you feel like that. Very friendly, very open deli that is old school with trays and so many options of food. I ordered an Italian sub and it was great. A guy behind me ordered the lamb dinner and it looked pretty good. It's on my list next time I come to eat. Overall it was a great experience and makes me proud to be a Hillie ordering food at the A1 deli. Cheers!

Great food, great people, low cost.The roast beef dinner is to kill for...I get a luncheon portion for dinner and can barely finish it. If you get the dinner portion, you're guaranteed to take about half of it home with you, which will make your doggy happy.The fish and chips is among the best in the Merrimack Valley too.
