Prime rib was excellent and the service was very good. But the place needs a makeover.

This is what I can tell you My wife and I eat out maybe too much. That being said five star across the board. It's not a fancy place it's just a clean place and food beyond outstanding I had the lamb chop the char on them and the way they were cooked medium rare was phenomenal The flavor exceptional. My wife had the prime rib it was mammoth and beyond mouthwatering. I'm telling you if you haven't been you need to go their french fries are beyond belief the appetizer we had with the walnut stuffing and clams was incredible and yes I could go on and on and on I'll just say 5 across the board and if I could put 10 I put 10 across the board and we just got back from 4 days of traveling throughout and ate at many different restaurants that were a lot more at sometimes price wise. Treat yourself enjoy!

Attended a very popular event today (that had over 5k people interested on Facebook). The facility owner or employee, a woman in her 50s with 80s style dark hair was YELLING at patrons and threatening towing to anyone parking in MOST of the parking lot (including handicapped), even though there were no directions, signs present, or any other directives besides the angry screaming.
I actually find it unacceptable that the event planner PAID to have an event there and the facility employees went out of their way to harass, threaten, and berate attendees when the owner/facility CLEARLY had lack of proper planning for such a large event. It was easy to see that this was going to draw a large crowd based on the Facebook event alone and they didn’t plan for it properly. I would never eat in this filthy foul mouthed establishment because of the harassment I endured simply looking for a place to park in total chaos.
Unprofessional conduct. Renters beware! The facility was unsupportive of the event and I imagine a wedding or other fair would be equally as disparaging.
The most concerning, however, was the ADA non-compliant-Not accessible for events. I had a handicapped placard but was not allowed to park at the designated spots for the event because I was going to the function hall and not the restaurant, which is against ADA but still was yelled at by the lady. She made me move twice, totally ignoring the fact that I had a visible placard

We were happy we came! The good was really good, the prime rib was cooked perfectly. The pre dinner salad was lovely also, I like the dressing but they could go a little lighter or put it on the side. They give you so much bread, we had to take it home because we felt bad wasting it, it was just Syrian bread, but really good with butter, if the butter weren't almost frozen solid. The prices aren't bad and I like that you can get a smaller prime rib with the baked shrimp for around the same money. Service started off amazing, with the bread and drinks and taking it order, we marveled at how will she was doing considering they were very busy. But after we ordered our food, things kind of slowed down. The food took a little longer than I expected, or server didn't deliver it, and then it was hard to ever get her back again. She didn't stop by to see how things were, it wasn't easy getting another drink, and the wait for our bill felt endless while we were waiting to go to a show next door, but overall it was a good dinner experience. Now the comedy show - that's another review. I'm gonna just say that I don't like how I picked out seats when I bought my tickets, then we showed up and not only was my name already crossed off the list, there were people in my seats already, and we were informed they are actually not assigned seats. Lovely. Won't be doing that again. We showed up about 7 minutes before the show was going to start because we already had our seats all ready to go. Pointless.
This restaurant has been in business for years. Large portions steaks, prime rib and lamb cops, is their specialty. Salad and fries are fresh and hot. Owner on duty most of the time. First come first served.

The Phoenician is one of our favorite restaurants for its delicious food, lovely atmosphere and pleasant staff. The grape leaves are the best anywhere and the stuffed shrimp is mouth-wateringly out of this world! Excellent lamb too! We celebrated my birthday and look forward to going back again.
Great food, best prime rib around!

We were seated immediately in a cozy booth for two. Our waitress was very efficient and attentive. The food was excellent and lamb chops were cooked exactly as requested. You cannot go wrong with appetizers (our selectin was Phoenician shrimp and stuffed mushrooms) Our evening was a perfectly enjoyable one. If you enjoyed the old "Bishops" restaurant in Lawrence, you'll love the Phoenician
I decided to treat myself and I ordered a $45 surf and turf which consisted of two very small and overcooked stuffed shrimp, and a totally uncooked piece of prime rib that was sliced thin and loaded with fat throughout. I wasn't going to send it back since we were with another couple but I will never order that again. Definitely a downgrade from the last time that we were here.
We've been coming to The Phoenician for years and have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Unfortunately, our recent visit this past Saturday was disappointing. The prime rib seemed like it had been prepared the day before, and all of our meals arrived either cold or lukewarm. Even the bread tasted stale. While we don't usually complain, this experience felt below the standard we've come to expect. We hope it was just an off night, as we truly enjoy this restaurant and want to continue supporting it.
My husband and I had dinner here before a show that was being held next door. The restaurant was nice and the server was attentive but the food was just so-so. I had the baked stuffed shrimp and hubby had the swordfish. The stuffing on top of the shrimp looked like little scoops of dark brown ice cream (walnut stuffing) and the shrimp were overcooked and rubbery. The swordfish was good but towards the end of the piece it was raw. The manager did take “some money” of the bill but the server said “think of it like sushi” which I felt was inappropriate. It was not a bad experience but for the price I don't think it was a good value and we probably won't eat there again.
The food always reminds me of the old bishops
