We were seated immediately in a cozy booth for two. Our waitress was very efficient and attentive. The food was excellent and lamb chops were cooked exactly as requested. You cannot go wrong with appetizers (our selectin was Phoenician shrimp and stuffed mushrooms) Our evening was a perfectly enjoyable one. If you enjoyed the old "Bishops" restaurant in Lawrence, you'll love the Phoenician
We've been coming to The Phoenician for years and have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Unfortunately, our recent visit this past Saturday was disappointing. The prime rib seemed like it had been prepared the day before, and all of our meals arrived either cold or lukewarm. Even the bread tasted stale. While we don't usually complain, this experience felt below the standard we've come to expect. We hope it was just an off night, as we truly enjoy this restaurant...
My husband and I had dinner here before a show that was being held next door. The restaurant was nice and the server was attentive but the food was just so-so. I had the baked stuffed shrimp and hubby had the swordfish. The stuffing on top of the shrimp looked like little scoops of dark brown ice cream (walnut stuffing) and the shrimp were overcooked and rubbery. The swordfish was good but towards the end of the piece it was raw. The manager did take “some money” of the bill...
