Excellent Pub Grub in an authentic Irish pub. Outstanding food. Traditional family run Irish pub. You will think that you are in Ireland.
Great place- must for a date night
Let me start by saying that I love the Peddler's Daughter. It is not just awesome food (potato-leek soup and fish & chips). This review is for Shoe City Urban Bistro, which is owned by the same people, but upstairs. I had hopes for this bistro after good experiences downstairs. Although parking in Haverhill is a challenge, the city needs some restaurants that are hip with some new cuisine. We have gone here a couple of times before and have had a decent experience, but I went this week and had a terrible meal and overall poor experience. We went on a Friday night when people were starting to distance themselves socially as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic. Given that, it was not surprising that the restaurant was not busy. We were one of two couples there and a single male customer at the bar. The waiter was friendly, but quite slow to attend to our needs (it has been my experience that this is common when business is slow in restaurants). Firstly, bread with dipping oil is an appetizer with a cost, which is fine except the bread was nothing out of the ordinary white Italian bread. My husband ordered a craft IPA which tasted like a cerveza. He was certain it was not the beer he ordered. He also ordered the Prosciutto and Goat Cheese Stuffed Chicken Breast. It came with portobello mushrooms, red wine demi-glace and mashed potato. He enjoyed his meal. I ordered the Asian BBQ Pork Belly, which came with shaved brussel sprouts, butternut squash puree and apple celery slaw. All I can say is that they do not know how to cook pork belly. My guess is that it wasn't cooked long enough because it was so tough that I could barely cut it with a knife. The vegetables were good. Sad to say, I doubt I'll go back.
Peddler’s Daughter is a gem of a restaurant in downtown Haverhill. Authentic Irish Pub food with a friendly, warm atmosphere and the best Fish n’ Chips, homemade tarter sauce and ketchup, and potato-leek soup! Not to be missed on a visit to the Merrimack Valley. (3 blocks from the Commuter Rail Station and Municipal Parking Deck.)
They lost their best chef. Every dish I've had there is great. The only downside is Haverhill parking. Great Guinness, great food. Highly recommend.
Awesome food great Atmosphere
The short rib risotto, and prosciutto and goat cheese stuffed chicken were amazing meals! The cocktails were made very well; and the waitstaff was very helpful and friendly!
I love the intimate vibe here. Small but powerful menu (and beer menu). Everything tasted homemade with love but with professional skill and palate.

Our favorite place for dinner, terrific staff☺️
I went here on a date with my partner and got the steak and she got the pork belly. Service was prompt, friendly, and excellent. The pork belly was amazing- crisp textures with all the melty delicious flavors you would expect. However, the steak, while incredibly tender, didn't have enough seasoning and the layered potatoes were almost frozen cold in the center of them (maybe not enough time in the fryer?).
The food is definitely some of the best that Haverhill has to offer. The bartender Robert is a breath of fresh air, and it very knowledgeable of the menu. Plus he can make one hell of a drink. This place has so much unique flavors that will attack your taste buds in so many ways.
