Really wanted to love it. And in the beginning I did. The bartenders were awesome, the food was tasty, beer was good.We were celebrating a lovely evening, a marriage in the family. We were very conscious of their 8 pm closing (especially because some of us work in the service industry) and were just finishing up the last of our beers. At 7:40, without warning or a last call, they turned off the lights, clearly signaling they wanted us to leave. The bartender (not their fault) apologized to me as I dropped off the last of my beer. Not sure whose decision it was to passive aggressively kick us out early, but this is probably not a place I’d recommend or come back to.

We walked in to order and the bartenders looked over at us, ignored us for about 5 minutes until someone asked them to serve us on our behalf. Bartender literally rolled her eyes that we were looking at their menu. Ordered a kolsch and it wasn’t a kolsch. Tried to order a flight and was given a stock option before I had an opportunity to choose what I would have liked. I didn’t drink two of the beers because they were not what I would have ordered. It was a bizarre interaction. After we had spent a lot of money on food and beverages, we were very conscious of their closing time of 8pm, they still shut off the music then the lights at 7:40pm. Rather than issuing a last call or letting us know directly that they may have been closing earlier, they chose to be passive aggressive. Bad vibes and poor communication. Folks who we were with had children, and seeing now through other reviews that perhaps they’ve got a distaste for children in their establishment. They’re only getting 2 stars because the chili was good and there was one bartender who was really kind. Still, we won’t be back and won’t recommend to others. The solution is simple: Change your hours if you don’t want to be open, learn to be direct with people, and if you don’t like children, don’t allow them in.

The food here is amazing this is one of our all time favorite restaurants. Its self serve and you have to go to the counter so you can eat at your own pace. The vibe is really good i would recommended if your in the area but tables fill up fast.

My band played there the other night and I couldn't believe how gracious and friendly the Folks of Start Line were. The food was great..the atmosphere was great. I highly recommend visiting. You will not be disappointed!
