Went to Checkerboards a few times to have a few drinks and play keno but the waitresses were very unattentive and pretty much ignored me. Today had to wait over 20 minutes for the bartender to play my keno cards even though there were only two other people seated at the bar. Then the owner had the nerve to tell me I didn't leave enough of a tip when I was in before and lied about other waitresses. For a manager to bring that up is despicable and I think she should go back to school to learn some customer service skills.

Quiet intimate setting, nestled in a strip mall, the pizza and food are wonderful! The service was very good, we are planning a return visit soon!

The service was great and the food came quickly. Howerver, the food was not quite what I expected. I got some fries and a small cheese pizza. The fries were hot and crispy, but they were very bland. They did not even taste salted. The pizza smelled garlicky, which I was excited about, but the taste was lacking. It was also bland, and tasted like a frozen pizza. I like the atmosphere of the restaurant. It feels very classic and homey.

The food was delicious and fresh tasting. It wasn't salty, but was very flavorful. I had the eggplant Parm dish and the vegetable pizza. Will return again for some more great food and great service. The prices are a little steep because of the quality and taste of their food, so it's worth paying. Thanks again for a nice dining experience. Well done.

Do not eat here if you have an allergy. I placed a to go order and while watching the chefs work, I saw them repeatedly touch many food items including my allergen without changing their gloves, containing everything on the line. Asked them to cancel my order and left.
