I was so mistreated here. I ordered a seafood paella but asked if it was spicy before but the waitress checked and said no because it didn’t say it on the menu. They brought it and usually paellas are large so I had offered a tiny bit in a plate for my mom to try before I tried it myself and it was very spicy.
The manager came quick to tell me that because someone else was eating it that she would have to charge me and I said ok. After a few minutes she came back again to keep arguing over the charge when I said she could charge and I told her I didn’t want anything free and I wasn’t asking to get the plate removed from the bill and she kept back talking.
I asked if we could end the conversation and she told me that she would speak to my husband instead.
The bad thing here is that last week I was at the ER twice because an allergic reaction to some food, increased heart rate and my stomach swollen and in pain so I have been barely eating and scared of what I eat. With the gastritis, the first thing you need to avoid is spicy food. This is the 4-5th day of feeling better after some very hard weeks.
I am very disappointed, frustrated and feel humiliated.

The Marlborough mix drink was exceptional!
Great location as well - we had a cute seat where we could look out at the main street.
I always look through reviews for prices, so I figured I’d share! Family of four with an app and two drinks was just under $150.
Good spot for a night out!

Tasty food and the waitressing staff seems good.
Unfortunately, the front staff (host and co.) is highly questionable / unfriendly. Be careful when making reservations and try to be very clear. Without writing a thesis on what happened in my particular situation, the bottom line is that the front staff either didn't take my reservation correctly or didn't bother to read it (more likely the case in this situation, in my opinion) upon arrival. This hiccup wouldn't have been so dramatic if the front staff acknowledged the mistake and made some attempt to fix it. Instead, their reaction was to respond by acknowledging no fault and making no attempt to accommodate. They just presented a take it or leave it attitude. This part was not acceptable, in my opinion, for a service-based business. If you can't acknowledge /take ownership of mistakes and don't bother attempting to correct your mishandling of situations, that's just bad business. And it is an especially terrible look for the restaurant coming from the front staff--the customer's first interaction with employees. It immediately sets a bad tone for the rest of the dining experience.
So, I'm going to knock this place for the conduct and reaction of their front staff.
I recommend ownership take a hard look at their host and co. up-front and, at a minimum, consider doing some serious re-training on how to take / review reservations and provide good customer service.

Amazing big family dinner here on a busy Saturday evening! There were 19 of us, looked after by two wonderful servers. Super friendly and very prompt service - and the food arrived quickly for all of us. And what fantastic food it was - I highly recommend the baked haddock with spinach and tomatoes, with mash and garlic spinach sides (enormous portion, but I somehow managed to eat it all!) Definitely 5 stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

asked if the Korean cauliflower was breaded. We were told yes, but we could get a Broiled versions if we were GF. I said, well, no real GF contamination, we just don't want the breading. She nodded. We received Buffalo cauliflower with 3 pieces of Celery and Blue cheese dressing. not hot ( neither temperature nor spicy hot) not Korean, by any means, but OK. Then we ordered dinner. I asked for wine to be served with my meal. Hubby seconded. He ordered Short ribs. I ordered Cipopino. Red sauce. While waiting, he said, if there is time, I'll get another cocktail to split between the 2 of us before dinner. The cocktail came as the meal came. Server asked if everything was ok, I said, well, we won't need 2 glasses of wine, since we just got this cocktail. Oh, should I put it in for later? no, we wanted wine with our meal. 1 glass came. thank you. His short ribs were ok. Plenty of well cooked meat, nicely done mashed potatoes and brussels. Lite on the sauce, but fine. My Ciopino was more like seafood in a vodka cream sauce on a bed of pene than a real cioppino. Seafood could have been cooked less and the Pasta was to soft, someone needs a lesson in cooking pasta. Then the bill came, and we saw we got charged $2.50 for the mushy pasta since it was ordered as GF. I told the server that we never asked for GF. She said, oh I thought you did.
Still had the extra charge.
Bottom line. drinks were fine. 2 our of 3 dishes were not as expected.

I got the fig jam burger, which was very good, Side salad wasn't great, but my two friends got the cole slaw, which they both raved about. Service was exceptionally good! The place is a little loud, but I know some people like that.

Welly’s Hudson has a nice and unique vibe, and while the tables around us seemed to really enjoy their food, I was disappointed in a few simple dishes we ordered. The place was crowded, clearly a local favorite, which makes me think they excel in many areas, but the kitchen needs to work harder on a couple of key items I tried.
We started with shared calamari, and unfortunately, everything about it was wrong - from the overfried, heavy batter to the rubbery consistency. It's hard to say this, but calamari like that shouldn't leave the kitchen unless it's heading for the trash.
The standout dish on our table was Simon’s Combo, which looked delightful. The presentation of the center-cut beef paired with shrimp topped with crabmeat breadcrumbs was visually perfect, enhanced by a vibrant ratatouille side. Although I didn’t personally taste it, the effort and care in plating this dish were clear.
The Caesar salad, on the other hand, was another letdown. The mushy cuts of Romaine lettuce paired with a thin, almost non-existent dressing that tasted straight out of a supermarket bottle left a lot to be desired.
Thankfully, the cream chowder soup saved the day. It was rich, flavorful, and definitely the highlight of the meal. While I didn’t get a chance to try other menu items, the soup and the effort shown in Simon’s Combo’s presentation demonstrated the kitchen’s potential. I hope they bring the same care and quality to all dishes. For now, I encourage them to revisit some of the basics - this place has too much promise to let a few dishes drag it down.

Ordered takeout from Welly’s Hudson
The Caesar salad had no croutons and dressing had way too much mayonnaise not Caesar at all. Had to throw away. Also Ordered a French Dip and got chicken parm on French bread. Spent $55! So disappointed. Way overrated.

Food is very good. Just not happy that I was made to feel uncomfortable for not tipping on a pickup order. I am a good tipper when dining in. 20% even if the service was poor and 25% plus if service was good, but walking in to pick up my food and getting a look for not tipping was not right. Bringing my food from kitchen to hostess station does not warrant a tip.
