Wish we would’ve stopped here sooner. Delicious. Friendly. Cool, laid back vibe. Clean building, great location with views of the ocean. Lots of choices and everything was very fresh. Can’t wait to go back. Oh - and drinks to go. Couldn’t ask for anything more!

Avoid at all costs. Store bought quac (wholly guacamole) and salsa (pace picante), rice was from a box. This place is awful. Total friggen rip off.

I came into this restaurant a place I’ve been in many times. The only reason why I came in last night was because I saw one of my friends house and karaoke while in this please I told my friend I said I want to do a post online to let people know that you are now doing karaoke since he just told me he started today while I was preparing to film the owner of the place who was also filming, walks up to me and tells me I cannot film in that building, and that I need to delete all information now I know this woman lives in this town. She knows about my reputation that has been tarnished destroyed. I’ve been discriminated against multiple times, so to see this woman discriminating against me making sure that I can’t do anything absolutely shocked me and then she stood there and tried to make me delete what I had not even started yet. I did not want to make a scene so I stayed there in support of my friend as I watch this woman snatch her daughter up , after sending her messages telling her that I was taking pictures of her which further shock to me because then she takes the girl in the bag to hide her away is what seems to be publicly humiliating me in front of everybody in the bar. this is the type of stuff that I deal with while living in this town with big owners like this this is why the suicide rate is high. This is why people fall into depression by dealing with people like this I want to thank you, but I will be suing you, because this caused me a lot of distress, and now I have trust issues with going into businesses for fear that somebody like you will tell me to not even talk to somebody . This place is not healthy for anybody to come into especially with people like this being added I am shocked.

The food and drinks are fresh and taste great (nothing fried or too heavy). Portions are good size and healthy, you don’t leave with this heavy feeling or a heartburn after eating the food. If you’re hungry, burritos are pretty filling, or ask for 2-3 of the Underground Tacos. But my favorite is the Tofu Taco Bowl with Jalapeno Ranch, along with a Spicy Cucumber Margarita. They have the best Margaritas! The bartenders and servers are nice and friendly, eager to take care of you. Reading some of the other reviews just now, I couldn’t disagree more with some of them. For example, one review looks like came from a person who interviewed there, and didn’t get the job. (google should not allow this imho).

Service was good (we were one of two groups in there) and very friendly… cute place so giving 3 stars but whoa the food was not good at all.

I was shocked to see the price of 1 taco was 7.50 and the 7 dollar guacamole was the premade stuff you can buy at the grocery store (wholly guacamole)… and my taco had some cheese whiz style guacamole squeeze product on it … really? Nothing original or homemade here. the chips weren’t even good. No flavor, nothing i’d expect from a california taco place at all…

I just don’t know what we paid for… others are right it’s really not good food, it’s prepackaged junk…. even the “side of black beans” was just an unsalted unflavored can of beans. and they give you disposable everything including plastic utensils. majorly cheap with a hefty price tag.

Yikes, never again.

Long wait for small portion sizes at a higher price point. Food itself overall was pretty good. Service was nice it just took forever (almost 45min and few patrons in the restaurant). Limited menu options (not the ones you see online). Ate everything, walked out still hungry. Went in bc of the good reviews here but I understand why it was empty when other restaurants were packed.

I feel robbed after eating the chicken burrito. I dont leave bad reviews but I feel robbed so I feel obligated to save u of losing your money. The atmosphere is solid but 17 for a burrito that taste like a frozen preheatable from walmart is just disgraceful.

I love the taco bar, the staff are always friendly and the food is SO GOOD! The steak or ground sirloin quesadilla is a must have, and the margs are always amazing. Fresh ingredients, friendly customer service, and an overall happy lowkey vibe in the underground!! Recommend for anyone who needs their taco fix!

**Abysmal Experience - Truly Zero Star Rating**Ozzy (Owner) and Bella (Manager) have to be the poorest representation of business leadership on the south shore.My dining experience has always been lackluster since this establishment opened, however, based on a recent discussion about a job opportunity with both Ozzy and Bella it was clear to see why they have received such consistent negative reviews.Severely overpriced food & drinks, poor customer service, and extended wait times are certainly enough to keep people away, but adding extremely unprofessional, rude, and arrogant behavior will be this establishment's demise.The Hull community deserves local establishments that cater to customer needs, and provide quality food, drink, and services at reasonable prices. California Underground consistently fails to meet minimum expectations on all counts.Save your money on this place and try out the more favorable competition in Hull that consistently delivers quality food and service at reasonable prices.

This was a nice bar right across the street from the beach. It had a cool Mexican/surf vibe to it. The place was small but it didn’t fee cramped with the number of tables. Only had a couple of drinks there but it was good. Would go back to try the food.
