Nice cozy place to sit with a great fireplace in the dining area which is especially good in the cold weather. Food is good classic American style Italian food. One thing to know is that the servings are huge. This is especially true on the pasta servings. For example, for most people a serving of lasagna will serve two people or leave you plenty to take home. Tomato sauced pastas are tasty. I had I veal piccata. The sauce was good and lemony with plenty of capers and there was a ton of veal. It was all over a ton of pasta. Someone else in our group had chicken parm which looked like plenty for two people. We will definitely go back there.

A cute little Italian restaurant in Hull. I saw another review that mentioned that they had "crazy expensive prices". Yes, the prices are a little high but the portions are ridiculously huge and you get a very nice salad and fresh rolls with your entire. Honestly you could probably split a lot of their entrees. Very good food and staff was competent and friendly.

The food is very good, simple Southern Italian style. Large quantity very good quality and made to order. Service is simple 2 person operation in a small Hope in the wall, it appears dingy when you walk in and smells like a stable ( maybe an old horse stable from MDC police. ) So with ambiance being zero and prices extremely high, the food is the only saving Grace. I leave it to fellow restauranteurs to make the call. Bon jour !

Was on vacation and was looking for somewhere to eat late. We came across this restaurant and they were extremely welcoming considering they were closing soon. The wait staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself is a classic, old school, Italian restaurant. All dishes are served with a complementary round of ciabatta bread and salad. The servings were huge and extremely packed with flavor. I got the penne rose which was phenomenal. The prices are extremely reasonable and I really enjoyed my time here as well as my conversations with the staff.

We were looking for a casual spot with authentic Italian food. I was surprised to find the restaurant in such need of update and thorough dusting/painting/window cleaning but we had hopes this was a hidden gem and I don’t mind a funky atmosphere if food is worth it. Staff was awfully nice, so I regret not giving the place a better review. My husband and I both had pasta dishes with meatballs. As stated in other reviews, portions are ridiculously large. Each enough for four people. I don’t think pasta or sauce was homemade but it was good enough. Real disappointment for me was that my otherwise tasty meatballs were burnt on the bottom, as if they had been scorched from sitting in a pan too long. Salads could have been bagged mixed greens and only option of dressing given to us was what tasted like a bottled balsamic. A nice oil and vinegar or homemade Italian would have been a nice option. Dinner rolls were warm and delicious but not plentiful—one per person despite paying nearly $25 per entree that included the roll and salad. Due to all of the above, I would say skip if you are looking for a hidden gem in Hull. It’s just okay.Parking: Confusing small entrance

Parking is alittle tough, but all parking in Hull is impossible. Big smiles when entering, very 60's interior with tiffany style lamps hanging from their ceiling. Kathlein and Bonnie were super, with clean uniforms and big smiles always. The menu is filled with the top 10 Italian choices. We shared a dinner, and still had enough for another person. All in all a wonderful experience, and maybe one day, Mezzo Mare will get a update on its interior. PS sorry no Military discount Thanks againParking: Very strange parking, but Yes they had parking which is not easy in Hull, Ma

Mezzo Mare is not easy for us to review. Kind of like visiting a Italian restaurant back in the 60's with tiffany lamps hanging from the ceiling, and antique tables through out. Lots of big smiles from Kathlein and Bonnie. Nice clean uniforms, and Huge amount of food. The menu has the top 10 best selling items, and their prices were up there with North end and ALma Nova in Hingham . Parking was not a problem, but no military discount . All in all we will return, and maybe try it again in the winter when their fireplace is on. Thanks again

My family have been going here for about 10 years and have never been disappointed. The staff is always friendly and the Chef is a wonderful cook. We have had the pasta, meatballs, shrimp, veal and the chicken and each meal is always flavorful and there is enough to take home for another night.Disappointed that they are not open for lunch during the summer months.
