One of Hull's best kept secrets, Jake's can get too many people from the beach crowd, this place has a more local feel, and the food is just as good!

We had takeout dinner. Chicken Marsala was cubed dry chicken (like leftovers). Not a Marsala sauce, just a weak tasteless brownish coating. Both shrimp stir fry dishes (teriyaki and garlic) -shrimp and veggies overcooked. Overall gross. And the hostess was scowling and curt. Not welcoming. $110 for thoroughly disappointing experience.
Was good food and the portions were generous. The service was good also. When visiting the area again I will be stopping in. Waitress gave us directions to a place to go watch the sun set, while looking across the water at the Boston skyline and airport. Was beautiful.

First time trying Schooner's. The service was excellent. The food was very fresh and flavorful. Drinks fantastic. I have to say this is a hidden gem. We had the fish and chips and the lazy lobster casserole. Fantastic. All in a great location right on Nantasket beach. I highly recommend Schooner's, don't just take my word for it give it a try.

schooner's has the absolute best fish and chips, haddock is perfectly cooked, fish moist, batter light and crispy, thin onion rings and crispy fries. The best around!
Great local sports bar atmosphere and nice to see people enjoying themselves and very friendly service. I ordered a fried haddock sandwich on rye after being told the oven was broken. Haddock lacked flavor and texture and rye would have been better toasted. My buddy's veggie pizza had a great south shore crust and delicious cheese.

Which is for mother's Day with my wife. Bartender was in no hurry to serve us. Came out with a snarky comment when I walked up to the bar and he said I'll be with you in just a minute I said take your time showing off in front of other customers he said don't worry I will! We had a couple of appetizers which were pretty good but the crappy service left a bad taste. Definitely won't be back while that jerk is behind the bar.
Best seafood around. It doesn't get much better than this for good seafood. Being directly across from the beach and right near am ice cream store doesn't hurt lol
I never looked at this restaurant as being anything fancy or above average.
It was a place to eat average food at a decent price.
In my opinion the past two years have been going downhill.
The prices are comparable to restaurants that have a much cleaner dining room, a warmer dining room, and food that is definitely better.
I am disappointed with schooners lately.
My pork roast was definitely placed in the microwave, the ends of the bones and the meat at the ends of the bones were consistent with that of something being microwaved.(like tree bark).
My coffee cup was extremely hot to the touch and the coffee inside was barely warm… Obviously another byproduct of a microwave.
Several times now the hamburger and onions on my pizza taste like the refrigerator, like they weren’t covered.
And as I said, the prices keep going up and the quality is going down.
I’ve spent a lot of time in this restaurant with the pork roast, the meatloaf, and pizzas.
I think the owner needs to seriously look at his prices and weigh them against the quality he/ she is putting out.
having said that, the wait staff are a bunch of great people.
The price of a small pizza is just ridiculous. Not to mention $10 for two hotdogs!!
I am definitely done with schooners, especially during the summer rush.
