French Toast. No. Cinnamon Swirl is french toast, almost no egg, more like bread. It is plain bread with a cinnamon frosting squeezed on in a swirl pattern. No cinnamon within the bread. Stuffed Nutella French Toast is again the same almostvdry bread. 4 slices with nutella between the bread. Read nutella sandwiches. That plus coffee costs over $20.
Everything else looked good.

Stopped by for the first time on a Thursday morning and it was sooooo good! Can’t believe it took us this long to try it.

I got the iced butter pecan blueberry coffee (one of the best flavored coffees I’ve had in a long time!) and the pancake tacos which were overflowing with Nutella, fresh fruit, whipped cream, and cinnamon. My mom tried the Dubai chocolate pancake tacos and absolutely loved them. They even had gold flakes on top.

The whole place has such a cute, cozy atmosphere with great dĆ©cor, and our server was super friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

Today I tried Toast for the first time ever - so glad I found this place! My family member was at a one-hour class up the street, so I wandered around Hull, hoping to get a coffee, preferably from a diner, not a chain. I ended up at the bar stool counter with eggs and coffee, while admiring the various decor. The bathroom's decor was equally impressive. Very cool place! I'll be back.

First timer. Cool place. Comfortable. Yup, had to wait for a table of four. All good. Waiting means they are busy. Busy means good food. Works for me. Had a skillet. It was excellent. Next time will pay for an extra egg (3 instead of 2) as I want more. Value for money was way up there. Go, just don't speak of the Toast Monkey.

Watch out for unknown fees added to your bill. I recently ate a toast and when I received my bill, there was an additional $3 charge added with the description of "administrative fee". There was no mention on the menu of extra charges. I was paying cash and didn't understand why I was being charged extra. The owners response was that this fee is stated on the bill as well as on the door. I understand that the extra fee was stated on the bill. But that's after the fact. Upon looking at at the doors, there was a very small note posted to the right of the door, below eye level stating the extra charges you should expect. See attached photo. No one walking into a restaurant would notice that tiny note. Regardless, a restaurant shouldn't be charging you extra fees. When I eat at a restaurant, I expect to pay the menu pricing for food, tax and tip. The owner also responded that these fees are common with restaurants. That is absolutely false. I eat at restaurants in and around Hull all the time and this is the only location the charges administrative fees. I once encountered a restaurant in Boston that had an extra fee during Covid. But this was clearly listed on their menu and website. If restaurants want to charge more they should simply raise their menu pricing. Don't surprise customers with an extra fee on their bill. Food was good, but not great. I would suggest Star's at Hingham Harbor or Stevie G's in Cohasset for a better overall breakfast.

I ate brunch at Toast today in a party of 5 people. I ordered the Eggs and Hash breakfast with Cinnamon Raisin toast and hashbrowns. I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious my meal was. The corned beef hash was very flavorful and complimented the eggs well. The eggs were cooked perfectly too. The toast was tasty as well, but cinnamon raisin did cost more than most toast options. My friends and family mostly had good things to say about their food as well.

That’s where the good things I have to say end, unfortunately. The service was just not good. The waitress we had was forgetful and made mistakes on at least one of our orders. One person in our party ordered an omelette with pepper jack cheese and got American. We asked for Tobasco sauce, and never got it. They also gave us soda when we asked for water. For parties of 5 or more, there is a mandatory 20% gratuity. Normally, this would be fine, but the quality is service was not worth 20%. It is also worth noting that there’s a service fee for using a card. This was confusing and, personally, I think adjusting the prices on the menu accordingly would be less confusing and easier to understand.

I hate to write this review, because the food was very delicious and I like supporting small businesses. But, the service not great, which tainted the experience for me.

Edit: In response to the restaurant’s reply and after some rethinking, I have changed my review from 2 to 3 stars, service from 1 to 2 stars, and atmosphere from 3 to 4 stars, and have corrected some of the things that may have been misunderstandings. Yes, that is correct, we didn’t mention those incorrect items to the waitress. We didn’t want to create a fuss and wait for a new batch of food. Our complaint was that the food came out wrong, we never said anything about whether the restaurant was willing or unwilling to fix it. That doesn’t change that it came out wrong the first time. I will admit, I am not an expert on bread, so we may have mistaken the bread type. I don’t see any reason to review the footage, I understand there may have been some misunderstandings on both sides, hence the change in ratings.

This still doesn’t change that we felt that many mistakes were made by our waitress. Maybe she was simply having an off-day. But, I am simply reporting on our experience.

I hope someday to come back because the food was genuinely really good. Hopefully the service will be better next time! If it is, I’ll delete and rewrite a better review

Food was great, service mediocre. Some of us didn’t get things we ordered such as sourdough bread or the correct cheese on our food. We got our bill and put the card down. We didn’t realize there was a fee for cards as stated on the bottom of the receipt after we got the bill back. We asked the waitress since we were confused about the $3 extra and she rudely told us ā€œthere’s a fee for card and cause of inflationā€. Pretty disappointed as we wanted breakfast close by in Hull, mainly cause of the service we received. Not sure if we’d go back by our experience and it wasn’t our first time at Toast.

We’ve been to the beach a few times and every time we come here we always make sure to stop at toast for breakfast. The staff are always so lovely, welcoming, and overall very positive people. The food is also always amazing, we’ve tried many things on their menu and haven’t had anything that wasn’t spectacular. We love coming here when we’re in the area and we will continue to come here every time we visit. Absolute gem of a place!!

I met the wonderful woman, Jessica, who purchased this quaint restaurant during Covid and did whatever was necessary to make it a success, despite some roadblocks. I am doing a kitchen remodel so Jessica may be seeing me often. Blueberry pancakes with Real maple syrup were delicious as was the tuna melt. Oh, and don't forget the onion rings; best onion rings yet. Cheers to Jessica and her team.
