Not sure if they were understaffed when I went because I’ve come here a few times and never have I waited this long (in the hot sun) for food - 1 hour 15 minutes between waiting in line to order and then waiting for my food. Granted, they are known for their fried clams (not my favorite) but today I got the fried shrimp plate…way too much breading and rather bland tasting. Could use more seasoning. It would also help to have printed menus handed out to those in line so people...
I love stopping here if I'm heading that way for a day ride. The best fried clams ever that's my go to with a drink and all i can eat. Always busy,summer is super busy with outside picnic tables and a great big tent to beat the sun off . Inside seating is small and limited but decent enough for a great clam stop. Love it!
Food: It's all about the oil. They change oil regularly, making the frying light and crisp, as it should be.
Service: It's a self-serve counter.
Atmosphere: It's clean and neat with good parking, and exactly what you'd expect for the decor and style of a traditional New England fried food clam spot.
