Ipswich Ale Brewery in Ipswich, MA for a flight+ & a pint of some delicious New England suds. This was my first trip here so I was like a kid in a candy store except there was no candy, just a bunch of craft beer. I hadn't tried anything from these guys either, but saw they were only 45min from where I moved recently so I figured I'd make the trip. I had no idea that they had been in operation since 1991, making them the Massachusetts North Shores oldest brewery. They have a bunch of different styles, with ales seemingly being the main focus, but I figured I would try as many as I could. This job is hard, but somebody has to do it. 🍻🍻πŸ”₯πŸ’ͺ☘

The first taster in my flight of four was the AMERICAN LAGER that I personally thought was excellent & a above average lager for sure. My second 4oz taster was the IPSWICH PILSNER that was another good light offering from these guys. Definitely off to a good start beer wise here so far. The third taster was the BLUEBERRY SHANDY that was just okay, but I'm not big into shandy's or radler's, I may just need to find the right one. The last 4oz I scooped was the CRANBERRY BERET Fruited Sour which was a average sour, I enjoyed it more than the shandy though. I then grabbed a pint of the flagship IPA simply named IPA, a above average delicious offering as far as American IPAs go. I finished off my visit with another 4oz taster of the HELLBOUND Barleywine, a yummy barleywine packed with tons of flavor & notes raisins & caramel. 🍻🍺πŸ”₯☘☘

I got a cheeseburger for lunch with tots (one of my many weaknesses) as a side to soak up the beer. The burger was good, but nothing crazy that I would go out of my way for again if I returned to the area. All the usual seating options with a big bar, hightops, tables & patio. The bartender was super friendly & sociable letting us know what was most popular beers were & the beers he personally liked himself. Plenty of beer to go as well for home or tastings with friends. Well worth checking out if you're in the area, they have a style of beer for everyone. 🍻🍻πŸ”₯☘✌β™₯️🍺

Love Ipswich Ale; still have one of the old glass growlers from 22 yrs ago. Corned beef sandwich was amazing

We came for lunch on a rainy Sunday afternoon. The decor is typical brewery; Edison lights, some high tops, some low tops, lots of wood, you get the idea.

Our server came right over for a drink order. I had a lemon blueberry shandy and then a raspberry berry sour. Both beers were good, but nothing special. I enjoyed that the raspberry wasn’t too sour.

We started with a poutine appetizer which was delicious, and entrees included a burger, a fish sandwich, and a Korean bowl. No complaints. My fish sandwich was really good, and the tater tots were perfectly crispy.

The server didn’t write anything down, and got everything right, very impressive! We will definitely go back.

I stopped by for a flight of local beer while in Ipswich for an interview at NEB. The beer was great and the staff was extremely friendly. Worth a stop if you’re in the area and feel like a pint.

Had a family dinner here and enjoyed some good food. The flight being in a little tower is so cute!

My sisters and I held our dad's retirement party at Ipswich Ale Brewery last weekend and we could not be happier with our experience - AMAZING service, food, and drinks! Caroline, Myles, and the whole staff were so accommodating and easy to work with - they made coordinating this event truly effortless on our end and even helped us set up some decorations we brought. I've already recommended Ipswich Brewery as a venue to all who attended and will definitely keep them in mind for any future events! :)

If I could rate this place lower I would, rudest staff I’ve ever encountered

Had a great work lunch here last week! Miles even brought over a complimentary appetizer. Food was delicious and service was amazing.

AMAZING experience at this brewery for lunch on a Wednesday. Pulled pork, crab Rangoon dip, and the Buffalo caesar wrap were fantastic, flavorful, and portions large enough to take home. Our waitstaff was kind and efficient and let us try a few brews before we ordered. After a bike ride to Crane beach, this was the perfect pit stop before making our way back to Boston!

Do yourself a favor and stop by. This is my favorite spot in town! The Ipswich original ale is as good as it gets. The mussels were perfect and so was the thanksgiving egg rolls. The staff is friendly and the building is beautiful. 5 stars.

So thankful we stopped here after a day on the beach in Ipswich!!
We sat outside. Our server (Caroline) was absolutely amazing!!! So polite, so friendly, so welcoming. No stress! "Take your time! Would you like to try this or that before you order?". Phenomenal!
Beer was great! Weather was nice! Will definitely go back when I'm close to Ipswich!!

Large capacity brewpub off the beaten path in Ipswich, MA. Offer a variety of their beers and a standard pub menu---not exciting, but you come here for the beer, not Haut Cuisine. Appetizers of a soft pretzel and the baked brie. Both very good. Then a Brewers Burger and Fish & Chips. Good burger. Fish (Haddock) dry---most likely because it was still frozen when breaded and fried. As beer drinkers, we came to sample a few of their beers. My son had the American Lager. Standard, but good. I had the Dark Ale. Disappointing. Bitter. Not good bitter as in British and German ales, but unpleasantly bitter with a lingering aftertaste. Good service. Not sure we’d come again.
