May Flower is awesome! The Chinese food is super tasty and authentic, and the sushi is fresh and really well made. But what impressed me the most was the service. the guy staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel really welcome the whole time.
It’s not easy to find a place with both great food and such thoughtful service. Highly recommend if you’re in the Ipswich and craving Chinese or Japanese food!

I wish I weren't writing this review. In part, because I wish the food weren't so bad. Moreover I wish I hadn't even tried it. I usually stick to the other takeout places in town when I want a treat. I should have stuck with the tried-and-true. From best to worst;
The delivery process was excellent, it's cheaper and faster than using Doordash. I didn't get any updates and was surprised when my order arrived so quickly!
The hot and sour soup has lots of goodies in it, though it was neither hot nor sour. In fact it was rather sweet. I added more white pepper and vinegar at home.
Tempura was overly bready and bland and the dipping sauce was bitter.
Most offensive item was the chirashi. The presentation was okay enough. But I knew better than to order something like that from a place like this. But curiosity kills the cat. The sashimi cuts were quite thick and didn't highlight the flavors at all. Maybe that worked in my favor. As some of the pieces were entirely inedible and went right in the trash. Some pieces were slimy to the touch, some smelled off, some tasted like they'd been "freshened" with lemon juice, and the most atrocious, the smoked salmon. I'm not sure why they'd add smoked salmon to a chirashi. Maybe it was the only fish they had on hand. Honest-to-god, it smelled and tasted of soiled diaper. I mean the pure ammonia smell emminating from these two chunks was incredible. A significant amount of the dish went right in the bin where, sadly, I think it belonged. I lost my appetite and had stomach cramps from this dish. Maybe it was actually off, maybe I was just disgusted. Either way I was sick this morning. My body said "NOPE!"
Never again.

I recently ordered takeout from Mayflower Restaurant, and their sushi was absolutely outstanding! Each piece was buttery and fantastic, highlighting the freshness of the fish. The sushi rice wasn’t hot, which I found to be a positive—it allowed the flavors to truly shine without being overwhelming.
Even as takeout, the presentation was impressive, and everything tasted incredibly fresh and delicious. Overall, it was a superb meal, and I’m eager to return for more. Highly recommended for anyone craving exceptional sushi!

Placed a delivery order, super easy online ordering, surprised that it was so expensive but figured it was well reviewed.
I even made a mistake on my address and had to call and change it and they made it easy to change and were friendly. But the food was really poor. No flavor in the udon noodle stir fry & some very terrible crab Rangoon, no flavor very low quality. The sushi- salmon, was off, I love salmon sushi, I eat it all the time and I couldn’t have more than two bits. Made me really appreciate ordering from my go to spots. The staff was great, the food was terrible and expensive.

Opened at 11:00. Placed an order at 11:05. Was told it would be 25 minutes after already paying. The food came out at 11:40. I asked if the hours online were correct because there weren’t any other customers in the restaurant and the food still took over 30 minutes. I was told (quite rudely) “the cooks were stuck in traffic”. You should have said that before taking my money! The food definitely didn’t taste fresh. Lukewarm at best. Dried up boneless spareribs. Tasteless rice. Biggest waste of money.

The Maki sushi was very good, fresh salmon and shrimp cooked, of course. The Mai tais were made excellent, large and strong. Just have a few be responsible!

Worst chinese food! It was tasteless, overpriced and lukewarm. The food did not taste fresh. Tasted like old food reheated. On top of that, the woman behind the counter was rude. She acted like she was doing me a favor. I would give this place 0 stars if I could.

Used to be better. Food has decreased the quality, waiter is cold and feels like they are doing a favor as a reason to be there.Pupu platter is dry, no seasoning, tasting old oil. Back in the days the place used to be packed and amazing food. They have increased their price and decreased quality. Big nahhh for them.

Very disappointed in lunch. Had the Mayflower Platter (Pupu Platter) with most items having little taste and way too much batter. Service was attentive but less than friendly. Most bland platter I have had. Will not be returning. Bleak at atmosphere.

Spent $40 on horrible, horrible food. The sushi was clearly not fresh, the overpriced sweet and sour shrimp was just hilarious. $15 for almost nonexistent shrimp in HUGE balls of deep friend dough with a cheap sauce on the side. The cherry on top was there were a few staples in my food!!I called the restaurant and explained the situation the nicest way possible. The woman on the line was extremely rude, unapologetic and basically called me a liar. After numerous times of spending money supporting a local business..this is how you thank us? What a shame. No wonder people tell me that they do not go to you guys anymore.

For chinese food this place is by far the best! We love coming here all the time! I love their seafood soup and miso soup. Always a winner tome. The service is great as always. We come here so often that the servers already know us by face if not by name. If you come by on a Tuesday night, there is live jazz band music and oh man! they are very good! You need to come and hear them out if you love jazz! :)

My go to for sushi and Chinese. I love their red curry dishes. Not a typical menu, which I love because of all the variety!
