Dropped in with my mother last week (weekday) in the late afternoon for a late lunch / early dinner. While the place was remarkably busy for the time, we were able to be seated right away in the bar area. The food was fantastic. We got the tried-and-true dishes like Veal Parm and the Chicken Alfredo which were both prepared perfectly. The Calamari with peppers before our meal were crispy, fresh, and delicious - definitely worth a try. Overall, portion sizes were large, but not overwhelming, and the flavors were spot on. Cocktails were wonderful and we shared a seasonal (winter) drink called the 'Brown Butter Burbon Old Fashioned' after our meals for a sweet ending. We both agreed it was one of the most unique beverages we've ever had and to spoke to the bartender to compliment her our way out. While not at full 'Boston South' prices, I found the bill at the end of our experience to be reasonable for what we were served. Staff were pleasant, inviting, and knowledgable and the ambiance was just right for a late afternoon Italian indulgence. Thumbs WAY up for Carmella's. Looking forward to my next visit!

Nice clean restaurant with great portion sizes. I was taken here for a birthday meal I had a Caesar salad and chicken fettuccine Alfredo. Dish was so rich and large that I took 75% of it home. Server was kind and we wanted for nothing. I haven't been back but that's more due to parking and exiting the lot than the quality of food or service. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and will go back for lunch sometime, or takeout. Great spot give them a taste. If not for the dangerous exit it would be 5 stars.

My 2nd time visiting here and was just as good as the 1st time. Our server (Jenevieve) super friendly and patient while we figured out what we wanted .Wait to be seated wasn't too bad but definitely call ahead and make a reservation but the small wait was worth it . Whenever I want real good Italian food I'll be stopping here

Everyone in our group raved about their food. Chicken Parm was one of the best I've ever had. Brother had the veal, said the same. I don't remember what the others had but they all raved about it. Drink special was a peppermint martini - OMG it was delish! Too bad it was just a special. yum. Wait staff was great, Ambiance was nice. Only complaint was the loud person behind us, but it was nice after they left. will definitely go back!

Carmela's was a very pleasant surprise on our way home to the Cape from a harrowing experience at MGH. We left Route 3 looking for a place for dinner that was non-toxic. We saw Carmela's with a full parking lot. That was our first hint that this was someplace special. Katie F., our server, led us to a booth, distributed menus and took drink orders. We weren't in a party mood, so all we ordered was tea and coffee. Katie also brought out some magnificent crusty bread and spiced EVOO for dipping. My wife ordered a cup of broccoli-cheese soup, which she pronounced delicious. I had a small taste and confirmed her evaluation. Our entrees were baked ziti (hers) and chicken Alfredo (mine). The ziti were baked in a marinara sauce with a lot of Parmesan and mozzarella. It was served with a warning not to touch the inner dish because it just came out of the oven. My entree was chunks of gently fried white meat mixed into a bed of homemade pasta and covered with a wonderfully creamy Alfredo sauce. My wife couldn't finish hers, so we packed and took home more than half. Katie stopped by again to ask if we wanted dessert menus. Not tonight, thank you, we're both stuffed. But we will try your desserts next time. And there will definitely be a next time.

Food was great. Very friendly staff. The parking was a little tight because the lot was very small. Also was fairly crowded in such a small seating area. Overall was a nice experience and we will be

Stopped in before closing for a late dinner. Mom had tortellini soup, nothing special, pretty bland. I had homemade fettuccine with sausage. Every bit as good as my Italian grandmother's. Bread was excellent. Service a bit slow but folks were super nice. We'd go back again and explore other menu items. Great layout dining and bar rooms. Super accessible right off rt 3. Overall excellent. G.
