I have lived down the street from this place for over 25 years and it used to be way better but it was Charlie's diner but I accepted that it changed and I've tried them out a few times over the last 20 years and every time I go there I get screwed over. The food is always good and the staff is always nice but if you're going to charge the person in front of me that speaks the language One price and then I get the exact same thing behind them and get a different price because I look like a gringa.. nope I am not I am actually Puerto Rican and I do not need a green card to be here I've tried them out a few times and I have been treated nicely but with the same discriminatory nature I go one block down the street to Gomez liquor and get twice the amount of food for the price but you can't fool a white girl that ordered the exact same thing as a Dominican behind me and I got charged twice as much no joke so this establishment is a joke...

I enjoy eating at Cavallo's restaurant. I buy breakfast from here probably more often than I should because I believe they sell the best avena and have good mangu. Workers are very nice and always greet their customers.
I would not recommend this place 1.5/5 @ best. The food was mediocre and the service was bad (feels like a Dominican restaurant for the aesthetic not the actual food.) She gave me this much bacon and when I asked her if she could put another bacon slice she said that all that comes with the order… seriously… 1 little bacon slice? Then when I had my tripleta she only put 1 fried cheese slice even though she specified it was 2 fried cheese slices. Could she miss anymore than she did? Yes, yes she could! I asked her if she could put extra onions on my mangu and she barely gave me any, wish I would’ve taken a pic. I just wish I could have actually liked this place because I live in the area, but unfortunately, it was a miss. ? ?

My husband and I ate here this week.Neither one of us is familiar with Dominican food.The food was AMAZING! Very fresh! The waitress and the patrons helped explain what the different dishes were.We highly recommend this hidden gem. Next time we are in Lawrence, we will definitely eat here again!!

Terrible service, I ordered by phone the person who helped me told me that the order would be ready in 20 minutes when I went to pick up the order he told me that he feels like he will prepare my order in a moment to which I replied if it is not ready I don't want it thank you.??♂️??♂️
