Came here with my coworkers for an event. Food was mostly good. It’s an interesting concept. I think it’s a bit pricy for some of the dishes. Service was a bit slow.

I am so disappointed one of my favorite restaurants is falling off. Me and my bf look foward to our Vaka trips because we live an hour away. But our experience tonight has made us come to the decision we will not be returning. We came with the intention to order 3 rolls - something light before thanksgiving but the waitress recommended a platter way over priced. The food took 45 mins to come out and we did not enjoy the food. We had also asked for a roll to go and waited almost an hour while she over explained why it was taking so long. When the check came she charged me for another roll that I had canceled. Very disappointed-

Went last night for my mothers birthday , ambiance was great. Our server Jennifer introduced herself well but went downhill really quick. We waited over an hour for our food and was barely asked if we were ok or needed anything in the meantime. We ordered a churrasco and was surprised that it was not similar to the picture, she answered with attitude and started explaining why it didn't appear that way and it depended on the meat we ordered, something she could of explained while we were ordering . 45min in she checked up and asked about the food , and proceeded to give an attitude again when my mother told her she didn't like her meal (Pescado ninja) and said " yes no one likes that I figured you wouldn't either." That should have not been the response and could of given us a recommendation on a different plate as we were ordering if that was the case.We had to keep calling her over to attend our table , and it was not that busy while we were dinning. We asked for a glasses of water and we waited over 15 min for that to arrive and I could see her just hanging around in the entrance door chatting away as we were waiting for the water. We had to ask one of the runners to get it for us . I've been to Vaka plenty of times and by far this was the worst service we had.

Was in town from Chicago, looked up sushi restaurants and decided to check this place out because the pictures and menu were very appetizing. Visited on a Saturday night, thank goodness for reservations, because it was very busy and there was a long wait line for a table. 2 drinks, 1 appetizer, and and 2 rolls was about $160. Very pricey but we were on a little getaway so it was ok to splurge. Also well worth it! Food was flavorful, service was good. Mofonguitos de yucca and the coconut Martini was absolutely amazzzzing!!

The food was delicious. the only problem is the appetizers are small for the price sometimes people will have an appetizer for their meal.. I had the octopus salad it was very chewy. The drinks in those 1 cup size is honestly overpriced. I know that every restaurant we have gone to, they bring you water or at least offer the waiter we had did neither. Even though he wasn't great, we still gave him a nice tip. Like I said, the food was delicious. It's just a bit overpriced.

I love this place for the food and the atmosphere but the service is terrible between 7:48 pm it was 8:30 pm no one came to my table to take my order or even my drink, everyone with an arrogant attitude from the man who was sitting in the host area until the waitresses brought out a blonde-haired girl who was inside the bar but the others with aggressive looks towards the customers. A customer is going to relax and have a drink and not worry that no one comes to their table or that the waitress isn't even Cortez, it's as if the manager or owner of this didn't care at all. They should give the opportunity to someone who wants to work, one who is going to spend their money, not look at it as if they were going to beg. On top of that, I'll add 18% tip when you haven't earned it.

Very disappointed with their service due to not being checked on and had to waive down the waitress many times. Came for my friends birthday and wrote on the reservation and told the hostess to sing for her birthday and they never did. We ordered two rolls and the waitress telling us the guests we were wrong and that we ordered one, pretty sure we knew what we wanted to order. Also make sure when you order water, they will charge you without putting the bottle on the table or letting you know it’s still water. Food was good just know service won’t be the best here. Literally felt rushed and as if we were getting scolded by the manager and the waitress.
