This restaurant was reccomended for my wife and I's anniversary Dinner which made everything even more disappointing. Upon arrival we were maybe the 5th group in the whole restaurant. We waited almost an hour for our Sushi that we ordered just to be asked if we wanted to cancel becauae it was taking longer then expected. It was $14 for 5 wings and $14 for one drink. Worst service I've received in a very long time. None of the waitresses know good customer service either. Nobody looked happy employees and customers alike. Pretty sad we were going to spend a couple hundred dollars there and most of the things I originally asked for weren't available. Glad it was only $30 I gave to this Business. Much better businesses to spend your money don't come here.

My family and I recently had dinner at Vaka Restaurant, after a close friend highly recommended it. We had an amazing dining experience, with immense appreciation to manager, Alex and our server, Mireina. We spoke with Alex in advance of our visit, to inquire about the menu and allergen accommodations. Alex was personable, professional, knowledgeable, thoughtful, patient, courteous, kind and accommodating. He listened intently to our concerns and needs. He explained the menu and suggested items that would be safe for us to order. Alex took personal interest in our situation and made us feel like we were his only and most valued customers in the world. Alex defines the full package of what customers want, need, expect and deserve to achieve 100% satisfaction. To say Alex went above and beyond is an understatement. The chef was exceptionally cautious and meticulous when preparing our order. He made every effort to avoid cross contamination and keep our meal safe. Every dish served was perfectly prepared with indescribable flavor and presentation. Mireina was super sweet and always attentive, while checking on us throughout the evening to ensure that we were comfortable and content. Vaka was a whole vibe, with great atmosphere, dinner, drinks and music…10/10. Big up to Alex and his staff for well-coordinated team work and attaining the highest standard of exceptional service. We look forward to returning for another amazing and enjoyable dinner and time.

The service here is horrible I got a steak plate with rice, beans tostones and veggies and my wife got a mofongo plate, we also ordered 2 or the cool sushi’s and fried chicken dumplings. None of the sushi specified that there was pork in it . I also asked before ordering it and was told no that I would be all set . After waiting forever for our food we ordered they brought it out and there was ham in my sushi. I was told I would be made over with no pork …. The waitress barely checked on us and by the time it was time to go they tried to give me the sushi to go that was never brought out and on top of that I never got my chicken dumplings …. After I was shocked from the Bill . The total for my steak plate,my wife’s mofongo, plate one glass of sangria and a soda ,and one of the sushi’s that actually came out it was $160.00 .. wouldn’t come here again sadly

My husband and I absolutely loved VAKA. Everything about this place invites you to come back for more. The staff is warm and polite, the service is efficient, the place is clean. The food is high quality and delicious! The atmosphere is vibrant but not loud. I highly recommend the KiKe drink, AMAZING!!!

Made a reservation for a large group on the weekend and everything was perfectly set up! The vibe was enchanting and the food was immaculate. I’d say it was a slightly more party vibe compared to some of the other Dominican restaurants in the city. It was relatively busy but the food came out in a timely manner and was worth the wait. The steak was tasty and this was probably up there in terms some of the best chicharrón I’ve had. Will def be coming back! Definitely best for groups but they do also have a bar I believe.

Came here with my coworkers for an event. Food was mostly good. It’s an interesting concept. I think it’s a bit pricy for some of the dishes. Service was a bit slow.

I am so disappointed one of my favorite restaurants is falling off. Me and my bf look foward to our Vaka trips because we live an hour away. But our experience tonight has made us come to the decision we will not be returning. We came with the intention to order 3 rolls - something light before thanksgiving but the waitress recommended a platter way over priced. The food took 45 mins to come out and we did not enjoy the food. We had also asked for a roll to go and waited almost an hour while she over explained why it was taking so long. When the check came she charged me for another roll that I had canceled. Very disappointed-

Went last night for my mothers birthday , ambiance was great. Our server Jennifer introduced herself well but went downhill really quick. We waited over an hour for our food and was barely asked if we were ok or needed anything in the meantime. We ordered a churrasco and was surprised that it was not similar to the picture, she answered with attitude and started explaining why it didn't appear that way and it depended on the meat we ordered, something she could of explained while we were ordering . 45min in she checked up and asked about the food , and proceeded to give an attitude again when my mother told her she didn't like her meal (Pescado ninja) and said " yes no one likes that I figured you wouldn't either." That should have not been the response and could of given us a recommendation on a different plate as we were ordering if that was the case.We had to keep calling her over to attend our table , and it was not that busy while we were dinning. We asked for a glasses of water and we waited over 15 min for that to arrive and I could see her just hanging around in the entrance door chatting away as we were waiting for the water. We had to ask one of the runners to get it for us . I've been to Vaka plenty of times and by far this was the worst service we had.
