Eating at El Coquí made me feel as though I was eating back in Puerto Rico. The mofongo relleno and arroz con gandules had the authentic flavors of Puerto Rican cuisine. To top it all, the owner/chef's hospitality made us feel right at home. I'm sad I can't take this reataurant back to the Bay Area in California with me.

The place was also clean . Mofongo con chuletas , arroz con gandules y pernil, carne guisa was what me and my family enjoy there today . Very small simple place, almost no parking.The prices will fluctuate from the menu, so just be prepared for a possible couple dollars difference.I got a beef empanada, it was super tasty and juicy. Hot and fresh. Crunchy and flaky and delicious.I also got the skillets cooked beef. It was a little saltier than I prefer, but still had a very good taste. It was definitely some of the most tender, flavorful beef that I have had in the 7 months that I've lived in the Northeast.I definitely plan to be back to try a few more things.
