Tavern in the Square

My dinner was wonderful, I had the Tuscan Chicken, and it was a delight with every mouthful. The cocktails and wine were very good. My husband, on the other hand thought his steak tips were awful. Tough and stringy and a workout for his jaw. Please change meat vendors, my husband has suggested that. We have always enjoyed the food either at the Framingham site or the Littleton site but last night my husband was really disappointed. The service was just OK; we needed salt and pepper on the table and butter for veggies. We had to ask for the black pepper for our salads, and I had to ask for butter for the broccoli. We were given melted butter, but no spoon to put it on top of the veggies. I had to pour it over everything, and it was messy doing that. The service was fine; we liked our waitress and the fellow who grabbed our bill at the end of the meal to get us out quickly, and he informed us of your rewards program which I quickly signed up for. The noise level is intolerable, way too loud. I made reservations a week in advance and we were seated next to a large private party instead of inside, it was noisy and chaotic, and not a good place for service because it was out of the way for our waitress. Not at all to our liking. Although the view of the outside and the fire pit was delightful. Kind of a mixed bag. The waitress was good in the order of service, giving us time to enjoy/drink our cocktails and serving the salad as our appetizers. Her timing was great.

Great food and friendly staff! The steak and hamburger were cooked to perfection! The Cowboy butter was excellent!

The food and atmosphere was great as always! It was an odd 80 degree day in October, so we got to sit in the outside area which was lovely, although the sun coming in forced us to move our table a bit because it was very hot. Our waitress was very nice, but it was hard to get her back to our table. Food arrived quickly. I do not question her, but whether Tavern has enough wait staff. Did not see any help wanted signs, so I am assuming they have too many tables/areas to cover. With everything else being outstanding, this is something that can leave a sour end to a lovely afternoon. We were going to pay cash, but opted for credit card so we did not have to wait for a 3rd return to cash out.

Outstanding overall experience. Seated promptly, even on arriving 15 minutes early for the reservation (on Open Table). Impressed with the menu selection. Food arrived with little delay and was v.v. good (NY strip and a spicy Greens bowl, following nachos as an appetizer). Generous portions (leftovers of all three were taken home). Good selection of beer and wine. Outstanding service. Prices in the moderate range. Nice ambience at a table open to the outside on a lovely evening. One of the few restaurants in the area open on Monday and well worth a visit any day of the week.

My experience from entering the restaurant to leaving was great. I was there to celebrate new jobs for two colleagues. We all enjoyed the food. The waiter was super nice and professional.

Nice server and good food but way too loud. It's like trying to eat at a dance club. Too many flashing TVs and overly loud music destroys the ambience. Cut the volume by 75% and turn off 2/3 of the TVs and you'll have a good place Server was very nice

Nice place, good food and selection, service was good. My steak tips were tasty, but the salmon dish had too much plain rice. Maple donut desert was a very good treat.

Service was unusually poor. Our server took a drink and an appetizer order, delivered items and then disappeared. After about 45 minutes we had to ask someone to find her so we could order lunch. She apologized, saying she didn't think we wanted more than apps. She messed up "gluton free" items, one for the meal and for two desserts. Never asked us it we wanted refreshed drinks, we had to flag her down to order. Overall a very disappointing visit. We've been many times and we'll come back, we assume this was an off day for our server.

Nice food, beverages and service while we watched some NFL games. Our server Lisa was great!

Excellent staff, very knowledgeable and hospitable. Hostess, waitstaff, bartender are most attentive and welcoming. Super delicious food! I had the salmon teriyaki bowl, my husband had the Baja fish tacos. We'll definitely be back! What a great and fun place!

Great experience! Sat outside because the music was so loud inside we couldn't hear ourselves talk. Lovely patio area. Great service from Daniel!

Excellent meals and service! Waitstaff was attentive, the food was brought out in short order and we had a very pleasant experience.

My wife and I have dined at Tavern in the Square several times. Always enjoyable. The service is always prompt.

We went to TOTS to celebrate the birthday of my 29 year old twins,, one of whom has Down Syndrome and autism. He was overwhelmed at our table and completely shut down. It was heartbreaking. The host was able to move our party outdoors and he was very comfortable and enjoyed the experience completely after that. Service and food was excellent. I want to sincerely thank the staff who made sure our son had a fantastic birthday! When Joey is happy, we all are!
