I'm very disappointed with Central Bakery. I went there to purchase pastries. I was bringing the dessert to a family dinner. The carrot cake squares were dry and crumbling, they had no flavor. I specifically bought them for a cousin and was embarrassed when he didn't finish the piece he had taken. I could see why!!To their credit, I also purchased other pastries that were fresh and delicious.

Best cannolis I've ever eaten. I've always disliked cannolis as the filling is too sweet and makes me feel sick after eating an entire one. These cannolis are perfection. I've tried a few other sweets from them and they're delicious!
As for the freshness, since other reviews mention it, it hasn't been a problem yet. It's always fresh and you can ask them what was made the same day if you want to avoid a very slightly stale pastry. It's all homemade, so it spoils very quickly.
