I've never been to Thailand but I imagine this is how it is esp with the spice level! Excellent customer service! Would definitely come back!
DISCLAIMER: there's a Japanese spot up the block that starts with 'Crying' as well so don't confuse them like I did.
100% get the milk tea and/or thai tea with ore crumble and whipped cream. This truly helped to offset the spice of my Tom Yum soup 🌶
The chicken wings tasted like a lemon grass pepper wing and was pretty good.
Crab rangoons SLAPPED!
So did the roti. We unfortunately were too full to grab entreés but I'll have to come back!
I've been here a million times but I'm fr when I say that this place truly never misses. IDC what anyone says!!! It's good! My only wish is for the chili powder to be a lot spicier. I want to be hurt, lol.
Fantastic hidden gem. Amazingly creative dishes. Incredibly flavorful yet well balanced and impeccably prepared with gorgeous plating and presentation displaying great attention to aesthetics. You have to treat yourself to this adventure.
I came here today. I got BBQ pork skewers, grilled rib eye, and Thai iced tea. The BBQ pork skewers were perfectly charred and flavorful. The grilled rib eye was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy. Thai iced tea was a refreshing complement to the savory dishes. The staff was friendly. Overall, it was a satisfying meal that left me craving for more. Highly recommended!!
Good food, good value, can’t wait to come back. Standouts were the tom yum wings, spicy basil pad thai and their variety of Thai teas. Get the pork, it’s flavorful and tender.
The food is delicious! The service is quick and good and the prices are reasonable. I recommend it
Crying Thaiger Rustic Thai Kitchen in Malden is an absolute must-visit. Top notch in flavor, balance, and heart.
Friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate staffs!
The dipping sauce of the crying rib-eye is to die for!
There isn’t better Thai food in the greater Boston area than here. Pad see ew with vegan duck, pad Thai, Crying Thaiger curry, drunken noodle, and the baked rice clay pot are all repeat orders in our household. I was previously a Brown Sugar fan before I was vegan, and even if Brown Sugar had better vegan options I wouldn’t change my alliance back. Everything I’ve had from Crying Thaiger is so much more flavorful and delicious. And whatever it is they do with their vegan duck is magical. I want to try more dishes but it’s hard when the things I know are already so tasty!
Got the vegan duck pad thai and vegan duck baked rice. Both were tasty. I got take out but the place had a cool and cozy vibe to eat in. Peeps were nice. Parking was tough. I would go back sometime.
Great food and service! I recommend the signature dish Crying Tiger.

I recently visited Crying Thaiger in Malden and had a generally good experience. The food was quite enjoyable, especially the Pad Thai, which I would highly recommend for its authentic flavors and well-balanced seasoning. The service was solid, though it could have been a bit more attentive. The atmosphere really stood out, offering a cozy and welcoming environment perfect for a relaxed meal. Overall, it’s a nice spot for Thai food, and I look forward to coming back to try more from the menu.

This is the best Thai restaurant in the Boston area in my opinion. Brings me back to flavors from a recent trip to Bangkok. Menu goes far beyond the usual suspects and is a mixture of classic and creative fusion.
We tried the roti with green curry, the spicy Basil pad Thai, and the pineapple claypot rice. To drink the Thai iced coffee and iced jasmine tea.
The roti was extremely crispy and the curry gravy creamy and delicious. Spicy Basil pad Thai (we modified to mild) was mind blowing with a textbook perfect spicy-sweet-sour sauce and springy noodles. Pineapple claypot rice was coated in yellow curry with juicy chunks of pineapple, shrimp, and chicken and a crown of pork floss. Jasmine iced tea was very intensely jasmine flavored and scented.
There were many interesting cocktails and dishes on the menu that I’d like to try e.g. Tom yum infused sake and crab paste omelette. We played it a bit safe with our order but will be back to try more!
Crying Thaiger could have gone the Mahaniyom route: made their decor more fancy, miniaturized the plates, and doubled the prices. Lucky for us they kept it ‚rustic‘ so we can go more often.
Vegetarian options: They have vegan duck on the menu in addition to the typical vegetarian options!
