This location is not closed but under new management - I had the Nico (Greek Benedict with a souvlaki like-meat) which was incredible. The coffee was non-stop bottomless (waitresses were all so helpful and kind) and the diner atmosphere was a great place for a weekend reprieve. Go here!

cane across this diner when visiting Malden. Looked great from the web page but so disappointing. Service was good but the food was terrible.

From what I understand, this place has changed hands and although the service was good, the food wasn't. It's really hard to louse up breakfast but somehow the kitchen there found a way.

the Doo Wop Diner is under new management with a different name. The Breakfast Club. I was very disappointed when I went there today. The coffee was so awful I am of the opinion dish water tastes better!! Also the home fries are sliced on a meat slicer and were hardly fried properly ie most were still wet and unfried! the old Doo Wop will be sadly missed,. I won't be going back!!

DOO WOP IS NO LONGER. Even though signs outside and inside still says Doo Wop and the decor is still Doo Wop, the space is now "The Breakfast Club" run by new management. It is as if they don't want you to know because there is no indication of the change until they give you the menu with prices double and triple that of Doo Wop with a smaller portion size. With Doo Wop, you could get a meal for 2 or 3 within $15, but that is close to the price of one meal under this new management. The new menu is similar to a "trendy" breakfast place you'd go to and say, "Still not better than Doo Wop." If you are looking for a pricy breakfast, this may be your place, but prices for a simple great quality plate at The Breakfast will never compare to Doo Wop.

By far the worst breakfast I have ever had in my 54 years of life.First off, this review is for the newly located Breakfast Club diner which I left a 5 star review on a few years back. There is no way in hell this is the same place I rated a few years back.Arrived on Wednesday morning at 6am 4/13/22 to the cook and waitress wiping down all the tables. Nothing was on and they appeared to still be closed. I asked if they were open and the girl said yes I guess so. This place is not in any state to be open yet. Ceiling in the dining area was missing and the walls are in deep need of paint. Food was the worst I have ever had.The janitor, choice of eggs, toast served over Corn beef hash with home fries.Came out served on a string like meat, with potato chips for breakfast potatoes and cold eggs for $15.00 !!!!Tuna melt came out as a tuna sandwich with barely any tuna and French fries instead of sweet potato fries as they were not in yet. Couldn't get the freshly squeezed orange juice as it wasn't ready. No ranch dressing as they were out. Coffee tasted like dish water. If this was a new place just opening there would be no excuse, but for a newly located business that has been in operation for 15 years, to serve what they did on this morning, they have no ambition on running this place. I am still in disbelief on what was served today and will NEVER return!!!! You have been warned!!!!

This place was amazing and under new ownership! I really hope they can up-the looks of the diner & area even though the town seems to be giving them a hard time! Such nice staff all around and great breakfast

Awesome! First time here. Got a table right away. Although, I'm sure that's not the case all the time. Jamie our awesome waitress, came over and took our order w/in 5 or so minutes. The place was jamming for a Sunday morning/ early afternoon. She brought our food and everything looked great! Not only looked great, but tasted great also. Good sized portions, fair prices. Clean and comfy!

Went here with a friend for brunch on a Sunday. The venue is small/cozy, the service was quick and our server was friendly. I ordered a two eggs, bacon, home fries, toast and french toast. Everything is reasonably priced. The french toast was the highlight of the meal and I could eat it on a daily basis. The eggs, bacon and home fries were okay. My friend let me try their waffle and it was on point. My biggest issue was the toast. It wasn't toasted enough and didn't have much butter. I didn't come close to finishing it and I almost always finish my food. I also think they can tidy the place up, the menus and surfaces were a bit dirty. My friend loves Doo Wop, for me personally I would go here again, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

Amazing place! Super friendly and welcoming staff, great affordable food. The best diner experience I've had in Massachusetts! So so glad this great spot is within walking distance of my home. It really has that homey, neighborhood feel you can't find in many places these days. I'll be back FREQUENTLY.Update: the diner is now under new management and has been renamed "The Breakfast Club" but it's still the same great staff and the same great food! Be patient with them as they adjust to some workflow changes! I'm glad the place will continue to be a good tasty diner!

Let me to the point, the new chef IS TRASHHHHHHHHHHHH. They changed management and that’s fine but re hire the old chef for something….. do better ?The home fires are NOT HOME FRIES….THEY WEREN’T FRIED …… The French TOAST WAS HARD AND OVER FRIED. It was like having a boxing match with the damn French toast.I’m so disappointed

I have been going to Doo Wop for years. We love it because it's such a great diner filled with locals. The servers you get to know by name and the food is predictably good. Two weeks ago it changed owners and is now called The Breakfast Club. It's like he is trying to transplant what he had in Allston into Malden but guess what, this isn't Allston. The prices have increased, portion sizes are smaller and some of the choices are less than ideal. The breakfast potatoes are now just sad slices of under-seasoned, limp, and floppy potatoes. As someone who loves potatoes, these are just a disappointment. I will say there are a few positive changes like the sausage links are delicious and the English muffins are better! Now to the new owner, he seems to always be there, not sure if that's a good or bad thing. He was sitting at a table for 4 for over an hour just hanging with his buddy as we waited for a table and there was a line out the door. We have seen him do this either at a table or at the counter every week we have been there. I sure hope he is tipping the servers for using their tables! The servers are great. Very friendly and what you would expect from your neighborhood diner. Many of them you can tell have gotten to know the patrons and engage in conversation. The one star is really for the new owner and the changes he has been making. As a creature of habit, I know change can be hard but this guy isn't doing himself any favors. It's sad to see such a great neighborhood diner that's hustling and bustling quickly become empty.

ownership is embarrassing!!! Watch the regulars disappear from this place; interesting. Place has been here forever but i happened to call in a take out order today which happens to be the 2nd day of new management. Looks like new POS handheld systems which i can appreciate but at around noon this crew was in the weeds and i watched someone standing behind the counter (assume the owner) with 5 people planted at the sit down counter and clogging up the flow. A lot of people waiting at the entrance and no one greeting them at all.... Oh and i called in my order exactly one hour ago and i am still waiting. I did get to hear all about this guys night though so there's that. Never a fan of anyone not helping out their staff. An hour and 20 minutes later i never got my food and told the waitress to refund it and split it with the other girls, there's no excuse for what i just witnessed. See you again NEVER
