We really enjoy going here for dinner. The people working there are very friendly and the service is great! The food is always delicious. We made the mistake of telling all of our friends about El Potro. Apparently, they told two friends, and they told two friends, etc... and now it's always busy. Still a pleasurable experience all around when we go.

The best. The food is fantastic and authentic. I have been coming here every year when in Chelsea since 2021 for either lunch or dinner. I have never been disappointed!! If in Chelsea, MA -- give it a try!!

The food and service at El Potro was impeccable - try their homemade hot sauce and guacamole! I had Tex Mex in Austin and El Potro in Malden absolutely destroyed them on taste. Highly recommend this place to everyone!

Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating to our vegetarian friends, made sure they didn't get the refried beans.

Authentic and affordable. The staff are incredibly attentive without being intrusive. The food was excellent. Fresh and well cooked. Loved the atmosphere and the margherita was sooo good! Parking available, lighting was excellent and music was great but didn't interfere with conversation

Please get your air-conditioning fixed. Salad was warm not cold. Ordered food but bartender brought wrong food sais she would replace but so hot in there did not want to stay.

My husband and I go to El porto once a week, and we have never been disappointed with the food or service. We have not ever left dissatisfied. We will continue to make this a regular spot that we enjoy.

Updated review and downgraded El Potro Malden to 4 stars. While the food is of good quality and delicious, they’ve increased a few prices over the past couple of years that don’t make sense. Chips & Salsa to-go now costs $8+. The markup on this alone is crazy.

Super nice staff and we enjoy ordering takeout from here once a month.

Parking: Parking lot across the street from restaurant and some additional parking behind the restaurant.
