Food is consistently good. Patio not dog friendly ….only for service dogs. Too bad.

Stopped in after the wounded warriors bike run today. Food and service was great. Would definitely go again.

Always a good time and a warm atmosphere. The fish and chips is always a solid meal choice that never disappoints.

Ok maybe they are understaffed, but John Brewers Malden is not huge. (1) Service, tho pleasant, was unreasonably slow. They should have known this would be a popular Sunday game watch crowd. Only one table in the entire place was eating; so that was my missed warning sign. (2) The food was almost inedible. If you can call old, dry French fries "food." Many had zero trace of potato inside. I suspect my order were pre-fried and refried to be that dry and overcooked. I like my fries crispy, but these were so overcooked and dry that I had to douse them in liquid to get (some of) them down. Ate about half, and got sick. Am seriously considering reporting to the Board of Health. I waited 24 minutes for twice-fried, old fries. The TVs are good, but the high top chairs are unbelievably uncomfortable. This was my last time at John Brewers. One star for game on TVs, decent Boston sports fans.

This place COULD be good if they learn how to season their food. The burger seemed to not have even salt and pepper in the patty, same with the fries. The bread on the chicken sandwich seems to be toasted in a toaster, no butter. Somehow the chipotle chicken is flavorless. Everything tastes like a high schooler made it. Add some salt and butter to the dishes and you’ll go far. The pretzels were surprisingly good but I guess you can’t forget the salt on that

I have been a long time visitor of this location of John Brewer's. I've had many good meals. They really need more consistency with what they charge their patrons. Last week I ordered a Bacon Swiss Burger Medium with Fries and the total came to approximately $13.95. The burger was fine and what I expected. I ordered the same thing today and it came out to $18.65. When I questioned the discrepancy in price. He just quoted the menu and the totals. Now while I have no issue paying the for the extras, I do have issues with inconsistencies. If you charge one price one week and then a higher price a following date, either your staff is incompetent or you're running a bait and switch. I am hopi my for the former. Nevertheless, I will be thinking twice the next time I decide to order from John Brewer's again until they can get their act together. Simple math and consistent pricing should be a given, not something that requires vigilance.

Stop by for lunch ! Chili was delicious full of flavor! Nice balance with homemade chips ! Chowder was spot on !

Service was great. But the food is super expensive for bar food. Let's see a salad for $18 chopped romaine with 1/2 piece of fried chicken tender on it, barely fit the bowl ! Come on sweetgreen has their salad double in size and, super fresh for 12.95

Stopped in to grab a quick meal and was surprised at the door with a lady showing fundraiser for a local school which I thought was amazing. Their limoncello martini. Was on point and server Walter was very attentive and precise with my specific order. For the first time here I was pretty amazed and would definitely be coming back.

Good food and service in a pub atmosphere. Outside patio dining during the warm

Absolutely spot on apps cooked to perfection and fresh. The craft beer selection is well thought out delicious and cold, can't wait to return. Our Bar server Janine is so accommodating and has a great knowledge of beers. We sampled several and loved the Blueberry. Great recommendations. This is my go to Tavern ?.

Terrible food, cold, some over cooked, some undercooked and some rotten. Burgers are pre-formed patties and obviously sit for quite a while, tough and flavorless. Fried Chicken sandwich sounded good on paper, but in practice was a disgusting and soggy mess. Nachos are over cooked and stale. Disappointing experience… Will not be back…

Ordered a tavern burger with a crock of clam chowder, the burger was tasteless with no seasoning used and the clam chowder tasted sour! Like maybe the cream used was just starting to turn! Won’t be going back anytime soon!

This place really rates about two and a half stars, to be honest. I got a blueberry accented beer -- it didn't really have any blueberry flavor but there were blueberries floating in it (and they added a bit of fun, bobbing up and down with the bubbles). It was fun to watch, and it was light and refreshing, but not really what I expected. I got their take on the Impossible Burger which they simply serve with lettuce, onion, tomato - zero frills. However, it doesn't come with any sauce so you have to ask for that. The french fries were just passable (I didn't eat them all, which is rare). Over and above this is basically an okay place, but I don't any impulse to rush back. I think they are trying but probably for the general passers by it might not be the best food choice -- that is, unless you're craving beer.
