We were celebrating my daughter’s birthday. We are glad we chose the Fairview Restaurant. The Fairview is a family style restaurant with great environment and space. The food was amazingly delicious and very well served. Dessert was delicious. Our waitress was excellent. Everything she recommended was just perfect. The kid’s menu was excellent with lots of choices.

More informal than I expected from a restaurant with white tablecloths. It was quiet (at 5:30, when we arrived, but the noise level increased as more diners arrived. The clam chowder didn't look or taste traditional at all: it included a whole deep-fried clam and half slice of bacon as garnishes. Didn't look or taste right. I ate only half of the cup. The broiled scallops were flavorless, with a bread crumb topping that didn't improve the dish. My wife liked her rare filet, as she had ordered. The cheesecake, with a few fresh strawberries, normally comes with caramel sauce too, which we nixed. The texture and flavor of the cheesecake seemed more like a supermarket purchase. The one saving grace: our servers were friendly and attentive. Plus our waitress didn't charge me for the chowder. We gave her a good tip. We won't be going back.

Good location and a varied selection on menu. Soup wasn't what I had envisioned when ordering. Steak I ordered was very good, just wish the sauce was thicker. Dessert might have been the best course as it was fresh and tasty. Friendly staff.

Been to this restaurant several times without incident. Last Friday, the food was not great & my grandson was severely ill. The mgr. invited our family to return and apologized. I shall never return to this restaurant, after experiencing bad food, I shall NOT put my family at risk once more !!! My advice: keep away from this place.

Loved everything: menu, view, service. Super cute, tasty. You choose sit outside or with nice white table clothes outside.

This place is awesome, they don't mail anything in. Sides, even the coleslaw, all made in house. If you are looking for a great date night spot, this is it. Come before sundown, watch the show. Place also is an Inn, you are across the street from the ocean, great view. Always go with a daily special, chef mixes it up daily, always fresh and paints the corners (a fish special, meat, chicken, vegan dish) special almost daily. Great food, exceptional value...

As always, the food was outstanding. Marinated steak tips for one and two of us had the baked haddock. All were so delicious and the service was terrific. Fairview never disappoints and is by far the best restaurant in Marshfield!

We have dined at gvd grill at Fairview inn several times. Service is consistently great. Our server last night was bubbly and great. We got a few apps (steamers,French fries, and tuna tarta, Greek salad and a Caesar salad. All was perfect and the salad so fresh. Where it fell short, was the steak tips that the bday customer ordered. This was the first for us with steak tips. Unfortunately, the tips were thin leather like pieces of steak. Completely not edible. It was disappointing bc it was our friends first time dining here and we were telling them how everything here was so good. There were 4 of us. Two of us had the salmon;delicious) and one had the seafood casserole(also delicious) We ended our meal with a bday dessert(brownie and cookie with ice cream). So good. This was the first time a meal was sent back, the bday diner ended up having no meal.

Dining outside is wonderful. It was a gorgeous day. My friend, who accompanied me; is unfamiliar with the venue. I have eaten there several times and it is one of my favorites on the south shore

Just had a great meal at the Fairview Inn, Brant Rock with maybe the best, sweetest fried clams I've ever had. My husband had the broiled scallops and they were cooked perfectly. Everything was fresh and delicious. We'll be back!

We arrived promptly for a 6pm reservation, the dining room was about 25% full, we asked to be seated at one of the 4 empty window tables, but were told they were “reserved” for a large party, the hostess sat us at a booth. We paid the check and left at 7:20pm and 2 of the window tables still remained unoccupied. I asked the hostess why we couldn't have been seated there as we had requested, she had no answer, just kept checking her seating chart, barely making eye contact with us. This is the second time this happened at Fairview. Whatever happened to keeping the customers satisfied?

Had special reservations indicating I was there for a birthday and requested next to a window. Hostess never read the requests and tried to sit us on the bar side. We were seated after I reminded her I requested a window seat. We arrived at 2:55, we waited until 3:20. During this time we never saw a waitperson nor greeted by one, not even for water. At that time we got up and left. It was a shame because we usually love Fairview. Didn't make for a nice day
