We called ahead as the message on the confirmation for the reservation said, "formal attire" . We confirmed with the host that the attire in fact was "country club upscale' . They are trying to make it a "special place to celebrate and have dinner, not allow baseball caps or flip flops etc. and assured me that men do wear jackets etc. " Due to the menu prices and description on their website this was very attractive for us. We three couples ages 66-69, all college graduates that attended Mass Maritime Academy on Buzzards Bay, and our wives, typically like to attend upscale restaurants that serve excellent food, exceptional service and have a casual but nice dress code or better. Our experience was none of the above. We were sat next to a party of eight that were loud and very unsophisticated, the men all wearing baseball caps. On the other side of us a very well-dressed man in a jacket with his wife dressed in a very nice outfit. Next to them was a couple the man was wearing a football jacket and the women in a summer strapless evening dress. This was all very confusing and distracting to our evening. The food was very plain from meat to vegetables, lacking in flavor and ordinary, all of the steaks over cooked and the halibut was dried out. Seeing the prices on the menu could only lead one to believe that the food would be exceptional by all means! When it came to time to tip the waiter it was very hard for us to give him even 20% due to his inexperience. We did however give him 20% because we felt he tried but didn't quit make the mark. We do however also blame the management for his shortfalls as he has not been trained properly. We will not be able to recommend 53 Chophouse nor return and spend a very large amount of money for a very poor meal experience. By the way we believe that the place has potential if you don' let people in, sit at a table to dine with linen table clothes and 55- 220.00 meals with baseball caps, also hire a good chef!
We recently tried 53 Chophouse for the first time. We had a wonderful experience here. The hostess was very nice and sat us right away. The waiter was very knowledgeable and was able to make a few recommendations. Our meal was perfect! We had the filet and NY strip, along with some delicious sides. The wine selection was very impressive too. Although the prices are on the higher end, we felt the quality of the meal and experience made it worth while. We look forward to going back again soon.
We went to 53 Chop for NYE dinner and it was our first time there. They were short-staffed and so our table wasn't ready when we arrived but we were able to sit at the bar and enjoy a pre-dinner drink. Each of us (4 in our party) ordered different steaks and all of them were perfectly cooked and delicious. Kyle was our waiter and he provided excellent service. We
Food was delicious and the service was great. It's a little on the high priced side for the amount of food.
Wonderful service with exceptional food! From the moment we sat down until the end of our stay we enjoyed ourselves and truly dined.
This was our visit to 53 Chophouse and it was an amazing dining experience. The food was delicious, the service and our server was exceptional and we also had the pleasure of meeting Nancy who was just lovely! I had been to CC Coffee the previous week for breakfast so to see the transformation from a casual breakfast/ lunch place to a fine dining restaurant was amazing! The ambiance was warm and welcoming and the menu selections were outstanding! We were celebrating our anniversary and I would highly recommend 53 Chophouse for a special occasion or just wanting an incredible dining experience.
Overall, experience was just ok. For the price I don't feel it was worth the value. Béarnaise was terrible.
This was our third wine dinner at 53 Chophouse. Having the Frog's Leap owner/winemaker in attendance made this one special. As always, the food, the service, and the wines were amazing.
It's not a steak house in the traditional sense. It's a coffee shop during the day and it was certainly not what we expected. I will not recommend or return to this place.
Excellent service. Our waiter was very attentive. There was enough staff to really cater to every need. The food was excellent, some great choices. Seafood, mac & cheese to steak. Desserts were so yummy and there coffee was soooo good. Would definitely go back!

We had an absolutely fabulous meal at 53 Chophouse. We went for our anniversary and the food and service were first class. The cowboy ribeye and filet were cooked to perfection. Thank you so much for how well we were treated. Special thanks to Nancy and all the staff. I highly recommend 53 Chophouse and can't wait for our next visit.

The Duckhorn Wine tasting was an enjoyable evening. Adrian did a phenomenal job educating us on the history of Duckhorn while providing tastings . Our displeasure was the food. The first course scallop was excellent followed by ok pork cheek. The main course NY sirloin was 2 small slices, yes slices of sirloin. Extremely small portion, over cooked, and dry. For the price of the wine tasting, 53 ChopHouse can do better, and should do better.
We tried this place multiple times hoping it would improve but we had the same result. The Cesar Salad was good but the steaks were not hot and the sides were stone cold. Price points are comparable to the Capital Grille and Ruth Chis but the food and service is not at that level. It's disappointing because there are no good steakhouses in the area.
The service was excellent, the food was fantastic and the attention to detail was great. We look forward to returning at a later date.
The energy was very low. Hostess looked like she was forced to be there, expressing zero interest in being there, and zero knowledge of the menu. I ordered the cowboy rib-eye , no flavor even though I upgraded to cajun dry rub, fatty. For $110 I thought it would have been better or close to what I ordered. My wife ordered the catch of the day(haddock) Very small tail portion. Chef's choice of veggie.(lazy . Diced) My wife and I go out to enjoy high end dining frequently. So we are familiar with what fine dining is like. A little disappointing spending $350(one drinkeach) for two ppl, thought it would be better.
