Incredibly nice staff and great halal chicken. They confirmed they cook the halal food in a separate pot and avoid cross contamination. The flavor, seasoning, spice level, and portions are 10/10. Will certainly be coming back here again

My first time ordering and I can say this is some of the best Haitian Food I've had! I ordered the Okap Bowl which comes with two sides and a choice of protein. I picked Griot, Black rice($3 extra, but well worth it!) and Mac N cheese($1.99 again well worth it!). The bowl automatically comes with a small sides of piklils and sauce! Everything was fresh and delicious! The griot was perfect! fried nicely not extra and tender! Black rice and Mac N cheese was great as well! I will definitely order from here again!

It was okay, prices are good. The oxtail is horrible, was too tough to eat.

If you are anywhere near Mattapan, Boston, drop whatever you are doing and make a detour for Gourmet Kreyol. I don't say this lightly: this restaurant serves, without a doubt, the best Haitian food I have ever had. The flavors are vibrant, authentic, and perfectly executed—so much so that during my short visit to Boston, I found myself going back a staggering three times! I remember when it was just a food truck and I would check them out near city hall.

The menu is a great, but a few items truly stood out. The Plantain Sandwich is pure genius—a savory revelation that swaps traditional bread for crispy, pressed plantains, holding together a delicious filling. It's handheld, comforting, and an absolute must-try. I also devoured the Okap Bowl, which was fresh, hearty, and packed with layers of flavor.

No Haitian meal is complete without pikliz, and Gourmet Kreyol’s version is the perfect acidic, crunchy, and fiery counterpoint to the rich main dishes. It was just spicy enough.

For sides, the rice with the black mushrooms (diri ak djon djon) was the ultimate expression of Haitian comfort food—deeply earthy and fragrant. Served alongside the other, equally delicious rice option, it offered a savory and aromatic foundation for the meal. To wash it all down, the Basin Blue drink was sweet, refreshing, and wonderfully tropical.

The sheer quality and consistency of the food are why I returned not once, but twice more after my initial visit. Gourmet Kreyol isn't just a restaurant; it’s an essential cultural and culinary stop. If you are in Mattapan, Boston, you absolutely need to experience this for yourself!

Definitely overrated spent $30 wasn’t happy I ended up not feeling good from
The wood rice was salty ,beef was tremendously over cooked , the cake was so dry and the lemonade was very thick and sweet and there was a lot of glitter in it which I wasn’t happy about

The food was ok the turkey stew and sauce , rice and bean sauce was pretty good, the presentation amazing the look of the food 👌🏾I had the Mac cheese it was too garlicky and too much seasoning they up charge for this too. I went on a Friday it seem slow pace . The people working were friendly I am sorry to say that I have better had high hopes here!

I was first introduced to Gourmet Kreyol Food truck located near City Hall, through my daughter’s social media internship for an agency.

Fast forward to today—my dad suggested I order takeout from Gourmet Kreyol, and since I was in the mood for Haitian food, I gave it a try. I won’t compare it to my mom’s cooking (most Haitians will say no one cooks better than their own family!), but because my household does a lot of takeout, I can confidently compare it to other Haitian restaurants.

By far, Gourmet Kreyol ranks in my top five of Haitian restaurants. I ordered the black rice, shrimp creole (made to order), and a side of string beans and carrots. The food was both flavorful and satisfying. The black rice was cooked to perfection, the shrimp creole was well-seasoned and delicious, and the vegetables were tender and fresh. All in all, my meal was very appetizing...it hit the spot!!!

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and will definitely be back!

The food is okay: the stew turkey is delicious, the black rice is good, but the mac & cheese is dry, and the pikliz has too much vinegar. But the staff is unprofessional - there was a woman who was rude & charged me $2 because I didn't want ice in my drink. And she had an attitude! Then I found out she's the owner!!! WHAT!?!?!
Bring back the little white woman, at least she smiles!

The food was very tasty; they could put more fried beef in the plate. Came with 5 pieces and I had to order an extra side. Other than that blue lemonade was Amazing as well.
