I’m a regular at Toutwel and love their food, as well as the fast and wonderful service. However, this morning my experience was disappointing. My order, which was just under $10, led to a disrespectful encounter with one of the workers, who even threatened to throw me out of the restaurant. To avoid further issues, I decided to go to another staff member, a kind Haitian gentleman who usually takes orders, and asked if he could add a bottle of water. The rude worker then went over and threatened this gentleman, telling him to clock out and risk losing his job. Such unprofessional and rude behavior is completely unacceptable. Ayibobo!

The food is good. Depending on what you get it can get quite expensive. They don't always have what you are craving but every meal I've had so far was delicious.

Parking: Depending on what time of day you come, parking in front and on the opposite side of the restaurant might be full.

Today is my first time ordering from this restaurant. I had griyo and plantains. It was delicious. They gave me more food than I expected. I ordered a large plate, and was full half way through it. One thing I would say the dining area could use a little updating. Besides that, the customer service, food, speediness, they are on point

After traveling from New York City, I searched for an authentic Haitian restaurant to have breakfast with my family, similar to what we experienced in NY (Haitian patties, soup, etc.) We looked up this place, and the rating of 4.3 stars was undeserved. The setting was horrible and the food was not great. The patty was made out of bread instead of pastry and was not flaky and fluffy. It looked like a samosa and the filling was unrecognizable. We also ordered the liver. Upon opening it, it didn't look or smell good (like it wasn't clean, a fleshy smell) but because I am Haitian, I gave it the benefit of the doubt. That was a wrong descision and I had to throw the rest away. When I complained, the lady gave me fish instead, but the sauce was too thick to be enjoyable.

The server (a tall black man at the counter) was an amazing host, with a nice smile, but everything else was junk.

In the end, they tried to force me to leave with a paper bag for my soup (which is a liquid), and when I complained, they complained back to me. What type of restaurant doesn't give plastic bags for soup, and a to-go bag?

Horrible experience and I would hate for someone else to experience it. If it's this bad for a Hatian, imagine an American experiencing this.

I am Haitian American and I called this restaurant on the phone to make a mobile order for pick up. When I arrive to pick up my food, they tried to charge me twice the amount that was quoted to me on the phone. There were three people behind the register, and all three of them could barely speak English. They could not properly operate the register to give me the correct price for my order. As a Haitian woman, I experience this a lot when I walk into businesses of my own people, unfortunately. Even though I did my best to communicating creole, the staff became frustrated and refused to serve me. I’ve never experienced this in other Caribbean restaurants only with my own people which makes it so sad. I’ve also reported this to the Better Business Bureau because why are you hiring people who are undocumented and can’t speak English to operate your register. How am I supposed to know what I’m paying for is correct? How can you charge me for a side order of chicken for $33? Do better I won’t be giving this location my business EVER

This is by far the best Haitian restaurant I have ever eaten from. Their meat is fresh from the farm and not frozen which makes the dishes tastier and their meat is always tender and well spiced and well seasoned. I can eat there everyday and not get tired of it. The service is top notch!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED if you're looking to have a great Haitian meal!

Called 30 minutes to order a fish, ( in sauce) and I was told that it would cost me $30. When I came, not only my fish wasn't ready but when I got the bill to my surprise I was charge extra for the plantains. What kind of restaurant does that? Secondly my fish wasn't in sauce just fried. Thirdly had no other choice to throw away my sos pwa because all I was tasting was cloves nothing else. First and last night going there.
