Cash only, service staff kept stopping by several times in 5 mins interrupting our conversation if we needed anything - making us feel like we should leave when there were plenty of empty tables. Ruined the atmosphere and not welcoming.

Stopped in on a Thursday morning and was served by the owner, awesome service and quality food, I got Corned Beef hash with eggs and fantastic buttermilk pancakes made from scratch. This is a family owned diner that has a great family atmosphere and you can tell that the owner takes great pride in every customer he serves. Great breakfast gem for Maynard! Worth stopping if you're in the area! Ill be back.

Babico's Cafe is a classic downtown diner with a traditional breakfast & lunch menu (note they are not open for dinner). I had the waffle with ham + some sunny-side up eggs; all were very tasty. The interior has the classic decor you'd see in any American diner of the last 100 years. Note they do not take credit cards; cash only.

We had the pleasure of having breakfast here today. I gave 5 stars for everything, but wanted to write about the vibe of the place. In a world where every restaurant seems to be a chain, this is family owned and operated for 42 years! The father, his son and wife worked the eating area (a cute retro-diner feel) - they hustled to make sure all patrons were happy. I love to support this type of business, and clearly the regulars agree as there was a steady stream of people, but plenty of seating in a cozy setting. We'll be back. :)

Babico’s is a real treat. My go to spot taking my family out to breakfast when they visit & they love it too. Old school diner. The staff is great handling food allergies/restrictions. Great food, great atmosphere, great staff. 5 stars!

This is a photo of the breakfast I bought at another restaurant in Maynard that actually accepts electronic forms of payment in 2024… as every business should!
Only accepting cash is a huge inconvenience to customers, and it’s very solvable. You can charge more to CC customers or you could even accept Venmo. But cash only / expecting people to use your ATM (electronic) to then spend cash??? ABSURD!
