First time eating from here, and I'm so excited to come back. If you live near Maynard, you are doing yourself a dis-service if you don't stop in. Getting such good food in little Maynard is a real treat. Everything was a SOLID 10/10. One of the best pork buns I've ever had. The karakage super crisp, seasoned perfectly, with a fantastic sauce. Grilled chicken and rice, super tender and flavorful. I can tell I'm going to eat here often!

Makiin Maynard has quickly become one of our favorite spots for a casual bite. It's mostly Thai with some other yummy Asian dishes thrown into the mix. The staff is very gracious and the food is delicious. The portions are sensible, not too big, so I can actually finish my plate and have room for dessert! Before you come, check the schedule for the music hall next door: tables at Makiin might be full 90 minutes before showtime but availability is fine as soon as the show starts.

We love smack noodles and now that Makiin is in town we get to enjoy double the pleasure and cuisine in Maynard. Natt and the chef and staff are awesome and as usual- always kind and accommodating. My son loves to dine out and he gave this restaurant five stars. The atmosphere was spacious, clean and has a nice decorative decor. The service was amazing as usual- Natt is one of my fav ppl in MA! I love Kra Pao, so I love how they turned up the heat on my dish and the flavor from the dish was just perfect- the spice and culmination of the vegetables and protein was in perfect harmony with each other. We also got Mai Tais, which was perfect. The Japanese chicken and peanut sauce was divine, and my son ate all of his chicken rice plate - which is unusual as he typically is a picky eater. Overall- we highly recommend Makiin for anyone who likes Asian dishes with a bit of fire and soul mixed in between :) On a side note- they can adjust the level of hotness and make it mild l as well.
Kid-friendliness: My son is 7 yo and the staff here are amazingly accommodating. If you have a budding diner in your hands, this is a safe space to bring kiddos.

We love Smack Noodle and finally got to visit Makiin - run by the same kind, friendly people :) They have a liquor license now and had a nice assortment of drinks on the menu! The bar area looked clean and inviting. Food menu seems to still be in soft opening mode but still a lot to choose from! Soft shell crab bao is a must if you like soft shell crab. I wish I got 2! Everything has a nice kick to it. Mi ki mao is a nice blend of protein, veggies, sauce and the all-important chewy, springy noodles! Peanut rice is creamy, flavorful and just spicy enough. Portion sizes are generous! Chicken on both dishes was so tender. We’d love to come back and try more. I hope they do well and get lots of customers ❤️

Parking: Some street parking is available right in front, but there is also plenty of parking across the street in the Main Street parking lot.
