Sweet spot is one of our favorite bakeries. They're chocolate ganache cake is one of the finest I've ever had. I have yet to have anything from their bakery that wasn't excellent. Note that they are not a bread bakery. They just do sweet stuff. While I was there I saw this guy carry off a gorgeous celebration cake for an event he was having. They did a terrific job on it.

I ordered a custom cake for my husband's birthday and the bakery was very accommodating and reasonably priced. They were able to complete it on time, and the design was absolutely beautiful — we were really impressed by the presentation.
However, the cake was VERY VERY VERY sweet — to the point where it was difficult for us and our guests to enjoy. It felt like our blood sugar spiked after just a couple of bites, and it made us feel jittery and uncomfortable. It was beautifully made, and I truly didn’t want it to go to waste, but it was hard to eat more than a bite or two.

I really appreciate that Sweet Spot will accommodate nut allergies! This past winter we got our first cake from them--a chocolate mousse birthday cake, which was perfect, no complaints. This month, I went back for a coconut cake with coconut frosting. While the flavor of coconut both cake and frosting were both delicious, the ratio of frosting to cake was way too high. There was very little cake and way too much frosting for my family's taste, and it's hard to imagine anyone would be happy to have so much frosting and so little cake! Next time I order from them, I'll specifically request only one thin layer of frosting inside the cake (instead of two), and a thinner layer of frosting on the outside of the cake. There were many of other treats at the bakery that looked beautiful and delicious, which I look forward to trying in the future.
The cupcakes were so good, fresh, and many varieties.

They created a custom Fortnite cake for my sons birthday party and just created a 2 tier cake with dried flowers for my baby shower. The decorative work is AMAZING and the cake itself is delicious. Very VERY happy with their work and would recommend to anyone in the Northshore area.
