I moved here from the south, the deep south. Haven't been yet but heard it was good.Had to be the 666th review.?✝️☯️?
Skip's has always been a go to for my family, as its literally minutes away from my childhood home. We've walked there during my childhood. The food has remained pretty consistent throughout my life as far as my memory serves. The fries maybe used to have more curlies in there and less ends, but overall the food has remained the same more or less. That said, my only complaints would be that, for the prices, I do wish they gave people more fries with the specials, and the fries should still be curly! They're called suzie-q fries. Also I wish that the thick Frappes were thicker. Otherwise, love this place, and always have. A pillar of the Merrimac community for sure.
Can’t beat Skips. A seasonal favorite of mine. Awesome burgers and fries.
A Merrimac institution. Best burger around? No, but not bad. Best fries or frappes? Nope, but again, not bad. Best place to get a burger and feel like you've stepped back 30 years? Absolutely. For the full effect eat in the orange linoleum cafeteria-inspired dining room or take your meal outside to the picnic tables.
Thats what happens when the Original died and lef to his daughter and son in law. I have been going there for over 65 years when the real owner started across the street. When I went this year I could not find the hamburger in the bum it was the size of a silver dollar and very thin. I won’t go agin for those prices
Basically what McDonald's should be. Laid back outdoor dining. Great place to treat yourself on a summer evening.
My once a year splurge for some of the best burgers and fries around . Not the cheapest but worth it, in my opinion.
Food was pretty good as always but when we asked for mayonnaise after we got the food the owner wanted to charge us 25 cents and make us get back in line to pay while my family was eating. We spent 90 bucks. 7 of us.Been going there 40 years. Ruined the whole experience over a mayo packet. Never going back.
Love the burgers and their curly fries! And I always get a delicious root beer float to compliment my meal!
I've been going there since I was a little kid with my parents, and it's still just as good as it always has been. Great food, you get your food quickly and tastes excellent every time!!

Best burgers, french fries and shakes! Always a go to in my books!
Skip's is a gem! The curly fries are the stars of the show, offering thin, crispy coils of potato. It's up to customers to salt or not for individual taste, which is another thing to love. Their Arnold Palmer is not overly sweet, which I think makes it better. I can also vouch for the tuna special (get pickles on the side so you can pop them on the sandwich!). Anything on the menu that's a "special" comes with curly fries, but fries can also be had as a side. There are maybe 10 picnic tables outside, as well as a large field in the back if you feel more inclined to bring a blanket. Make sure to get a good look at the very cool, very retro sign beckoning customers from the road!
The food looks nothing like the picture! I think I had a frozen hamburger & it was so small and the fries are cut so thin they taste like potato sticks. The fries were broken up crumbs I did not get 1 curly fry. Won't be going there again!
First time there. Burger was delicious. Shake was way overpriced. Sorry
Went to skips last night. It was terrible. You now get 3 packets of ketchup, if you want more you need to buy a bottle. My nephew got spoiled blue cheese salad dressing, when we went back to replace it the person at the counter wanted us to pay for it again. Vinegar is an extra charge. This place has gone so downhill. And it’s sad because it used to be a family delight. We will be finding somewhere else now.
