Quite honestly, I am not a person who likes to go out. With that said, I stopped one day at Charred Oak with my spouce on a whim... from the time we walked in that first day to as recent as this evening there is something very special about this place! From the food and drink to the staff who is like extended family. Thank you for a place to relax, enjoy surroundings and for amazing staff like Ben, Rosie,.Steve, Tucker and so many more.

Wait was exceptionally long and my husband and I were so incredibly hungry. Multiple people came in after us and were seated before us which was so frustrating. I even overheard a woman thanking the hostess for seating them so quickly while we sat and waited. But once we sat down, our waiter, Tucker, got right to business. Took our order as quickly as he could and then recommended adding the chipotle aioli to the fish tacos because I thought they were rather bland. The chipotle sauce was phenomenal. Amazing recommendation. Tucker saved the day. Without his speedy service and fix to my meal, I would be incredibly unhappy. Thank you, Tucker, for turning our hungry and cranky date night around! You saved the day!!

First time visiting. Resturant came highly recommended by family who have been previously & had great Google reviews — highly disappointed. Went with people who went previously and no one enjoyed their meal. I ordered a filet and I couldn’t even cut it ? The carrots were undercooked and the mash whiskey potatoes were mid at best. No one else enjoyed their meal at all. Ordered the peach cosmo, and that was delicious. Apps were just okay.

Space is BEAUTIFUL tho. Seriously such a pretty space.

How do you top anything here? Answer is You can't! From Ben, Rosie, Steve to Tucker and newer hires like Emma... they make it worth being there. Food is always top notch, but it is the employees who are the true scene stealers!

Without their making it personal in their way of welcoming individuals in to their goodbyes upon leaving... top notch!!

Never been here before but past reviews sounded great. Sat at the bar and the bartender explained that its a whiskey bar, so I asked for a Manhattan the way he would make it. He carefully explained the specific ingredients he was going to use and brought me the best Manhattan I have ever had. My favorite fish and chips used to be from Block Island, it is now here and even the French fries are so good, they’re a secret. This is a boisterous, happy place with real New England charm that you should not miss.

The nachos are sublime! The bourbon salmon was sooooo yummy. My husband said the truffle fries were the best he’s had! Topped off with a cinnamon scone served with ice cream, whipped cream and caramel drizzle that 4 people could not finish despite boxing up much of their entrees - (portions are something to write home about -more than generous). OMG - as Arnold said, “ I’ll be back”.

The Charred Oak Tavern, a place that never disappoints. The menu is great, with many options for whatever you're feeling on a given day. There's some very unique options too, if you're thinking of trying something a little different that you've never tried before. The whiskey selection will leave you amazed, each one with its own story and flavor. The bartenders are awesome, fast, and an absolute wealth of knowledge about whiskey. They truly care about what they do, as well as the wait staff and cooks and its evident the longer you stay there how much they truly care about you as a customer. The restaurant is always super clean, and well taken care of. I will say it gets very busy, so if you're looking for a table on a Friday or Saturday night there's a good chance there will be a wait BUT that's because the place is so good and so popular so its worth it trust me. Give it a try, you won't regret it!

Food is excellent - way better than one would expect and the menu is interesting and varied - something for just about everyone. The rustic decor is very comfortable - just a nice place to relax and “be”. The service is always friendly and great. This restaurant has been one of my favorites since moving to the area nine years ago. Highly recommend!
