A quaint looking restaurant with a warm atmosphere and a very large bar. The waitstaff are very knowledgeable about the menu. The food was good as we're the drinks. They have nightly specials as well

The atmosphere is nice. The service is not great. Getting a glass of wine to the table took about 20 minutes. The corn chowder was not good. My wife's comment:"nasty". Thick, no flavor. Finally the wine arrived maybe 5 minutes before the meal. And FYI, the wine is a "shallow pour" . My wife's swordfish was great! I had the beef & broccoli. Served in a bowl (not a good way to serve this dish) taste was okay. Trying to cut the beef on the side of a deep bowl was impossible. And there was so much spicy sauce in the bottom of the bowl where the rice was that it was like a soup. So, poor service, main meal okay. Horrible corn chowder, small wine pours, for $125. Definitely not rushing back there. SORRY

A Truly Unforgettable Dining Experience

The Charred Oak Tavern offers a perfect blend of rustic elegance and modern charm. From the moment you step inside, the warm, cozy atmosphere draws you in with its Western-inspired decor and thoughtful modern touches. It’s the kind of space where you can relax and enjoy incredible food in a welcoming environment. Whether you’re planning a romantic date night or catching up with old friends, this restaurant provides the perfect backdrop for a memorable evening.

Our server, Amber, was an absolute highlight of the night. She is hands-down one of the most personable and friendly servers I’ve ever encountered. Her kindness and genuine enthusiasm made the experience all the more special.

The food was nothing short of spectacular. I started with their Duxbury-sourced oysters, which were fresh and flavorful—a true taste of the sea. For my main dish, I chose the lamb lollipops, and they did not disappoint. Each of the four chef-cut chops was cooked to perfection, paired with a homemade jam featuring bits of bacon that added a delightful, savory sweetness. Their creative use of whiskey and bourbon in the side dishes ties everything together beautifully, creating unique and unforgettable flavors.

If you’re looking for a place with outstanding food, impeccable service, and a cozy yet refined ambiance, The Charred Oak Tavern should be at the top of your list. Whether you’re there for an intimate dinner or reconnecting with friends, you’ll leave with a smile and a full heart. I’ll definitely be back!

We recently bought a home in Middleboro at the beginning of the year, so we were unaware of the Charred Oak Tavern prior but, since it’s now so close by, we decided to try it. It has become a dine-out staple for us. We bring all our family and friends here when they come to visit. The atmosphere gives a cozy vintage vibe and the food is great. I try to have something different every time I go and haven’t had a bad meal. All the staff is very friendly and welcoming. From the outside, it seems like slim parking only on the street, but they have a large parking lot in the back with entrances in both the front and back of the restaurant. I get the pretzel bites as an app for the table almost every time we go, they’re amazing! I’ve only indulged in drinks once and had an autumn sangria that was really tasty. The bar is always hopping, so I imagine the rest of their drinks are good as well. Highly recommend you try this restaurant.
