Disappointing given the raves. Very much trying, and never succeeding. Perhaps one needn't have had the dishes served from the original cultures.

I’m really sorry but the food here is just not good. The place itself is beautiful and the staff are friendly- that being said- I wouldn’t go here for the food. It’s a great place for a drink or a meetup but in terms of takeout- man, awful. We got the salad- it didn’t have dressing- the fried chicken- dried, overcooked, no flavor- mashed potatoes- flavorless and water mush. I’m sorry- I didn’t want to go into specifics but that was the takeout experience I'm afraid.

Really cute restaurant in the center of Natick. Only complaint is the value for the money. The food was good but I’ve had much better for the $30-40 price range. Portions were pretty small too… Space was pretty though and had a good variety on the menu. With larger portions I think it would be worth it.

Truly one of my favorite restaurants now. I went with my family who was in town last weekend and it’s consistently good every time. The bolognese is outstanding and the corn bread is a must.

Very enjoyable evening at buttercup. Staff was very nice, bread was delicious and the bolognese was also good. A bit expensive for my taste but food was up to the quality

The food was outstanding, especially the Peach and Burrata stack and cornbread, fish tacos and the ravioli with pancetta and peas. The staff were all friendly and attentive!

Cute restaurant, drinks were good, our server was so friendly and kind. Started with the fried squash blossoms which was the best thing. If the rest of the food was like this it would have been 5 stars. For entrees we got fried chicken and chicken breast. Both were underseasoned. The fried chicken was one of the most bland I have ever had, no idea how they did that. The best thing about the chicken breast dish was the mashed potatoes and gravy. The carrots were super salty and the chicken breast had minimal/subtle seasoning that just didn’t penetrate past the surface. These truly fell flat. Ended with a brownie dessert which was rich, decadent, and delicious.

We really enjoy Buttercup, they have solid fried chicken and great cocktails. It's really busy most days so plan to make a reservation!

I love hidden gems and this is one. Everything about this place is great. Get the corn bread to start. I had the chicken which was amazing and so was my wife’s bolognese.

Took my parents for a birthday dinner. They are quite picky and only like fresh and home cooked style meals, nothing too complex or I-have-no-idea-what-am-eating type of cuisine. This lovely restaurant was a win. My folks were pleased and mentioned that they will sure re-visit Buttercup.

I looked forward to finally having dinner at Buttercups. The wine was cold, the server was pleasant, the service was slow even though they were not terribly busy.
I ordered the Burrata/Proscuitto salad - the ratio of cheese to meat was unbalanced - very little cheese, too much meat and my companion and I agreed that there was not nearly enough of the lovely pesto.
For my meal I ordered the shrimp risotto, which was tiny, the shrimp was cooked perfectly, but the risotto tasted chalky or old or something.
My friend had the Bolognese which was a little spicier than she anticipated.
All in all I was disappointed, I had anticipated a really gourmet meal.
If you are looking for al fresco dining, they have a lovely patio albeit on a busy street.

What a hidden gem this place is! Food is incredibly fresh and high quality. Menu is not overly fussy. The dishes are simple, straightforward and clearly designed to highlight the flavors and freshness of the ingredients. We will definitely return soon!

Our waitress was in my opinion, in the wrong field. She was curt, did t smile and seemed like she didn't like us or her job. Pasta congee, VERY small Portion. Very little flavor
So delicious
