We would like to give a higher rating and hope to in the future but there were several areas that could be improved:

1) My husband and I sat on the patio next to the front door. We used to come here alot when it was Petit Robert. They have done a nice job of changing it from French country bistro to modern upscale Italian, still very cozy. It was a lovely evening but it was disrupted by 2 young boys running in and out of the restaurant yelling the score to some game. They continued to yell up and down the sidewalk and climbed the lamppost. It really ruined the vibe. It was surprising that their parents (inside) nor the staff said anything to them. We could over hear the table next to us also commenting about this raucous behavior.

2. The service, although super friendly was slow. We waited for quite some time to place our order and for the bill. I never got the ice that was requested. Perhaps this is because of thr busy crowd on a Friday night.

3. The majority of our dishes were outstanding. The grilled squid appetizer was the best we have had in awhile. The squid was very tender and went perfectly well with the sliced fennel and lemon vinaigrette. My husband's wagyu dish was also beautifully executed. It was cooked to the perfect medium rare and paired nicely with the garlic sauce. Sides included lightly seasoned crispy fingerling potatoes and broccolini also cooked to perfection. I ordered the house special, lobster in vodka sauce with house made pasta. This was the biggest disappointment when the other dishes were so well delivered. The pasta was over cooked and mushy. The sauce was a bit sweet and there were only a few small pieces of lobster claw meat. This was surprising since the dish was more expensive than the wagyu. When the hostess checked in on us, she was gracious in offering to get us something else. I went with the black truffle wheel since we had seen other tables ordering it and the waitress had said it was her favorite dish there. Indeed it was incredible and did not disappoint! The pasta was not overcooked and the sauce was to die for! I loved it and would come back just for that dish alone!

When the bill came out, we assumed that they would have comped us for the lobster dish since that was what we didn't like and had sent it back despite their offering us to take it home. But instead, they had comped us for the truffle dish ($26), which was just over half of the lobster dish ($44). Seemed like a strange unprofessional practice.

Overall we still loved 3 out of 4 dishes so would still come back. Hopefully there won't be screaming kids and perhaps the wait staff would not be as slow.

Had dinner here last night. Party of five. 3 good meals (eggplant parm), 1 marginal (gnocci), 1 bad (pork). The pork thing was mine. It was inedible. Could have fixed boots with it. Should be taken off the menu.
No plans to ever go back.

Seeing that this place has a 4.6 overall review is criminal. We drove all the way from Dorchester to try this place out and after tonight I’d drive from Connecticut to go here. The food was fantastic, the service was top notch, the cocktails were really good. I highly recommend.

The bolognese had a gamey taste that made it unpleasant to eat. The vodka pasta was decent. The truffle fries were okay and I liked the garlic sauce it came with. I think the best thing was the complimentary bread. Service was just mediocre

Update: My friend and I both got food poisoning from eating the pasta…

Wonderful restaurant with friendly prompt service and a wide variety of dishes for different tastes. The prices were also very moderate for the quality and quantity of food received. They also have a number of hard to find dishes: I thought the Stuffed Squash Blossom Flowers were in particular a great find.

We used to love this restaurant, but the past few times we’ve been disappointed by the experience and service. We went last weekend and had plans to order another drink, but when we said no to dessert and informed our server that we WOULD like to order another drink, she gave us a look as asked me move to the bar instead… keep in mind we had already racked up quite the bill and had only been there for barely an hour and a half. There was also no music playing in the restaurant so you could hear everyone’s conversations which was odd. The time before we had a different server who kept hanging out with the kitchen staff and would forget to come check on us. Coming from my husband and I who both worked in the service industry for many years, it’s frustrating that this has been the experience recently.

I went there for my mom’s birthday a few days ago and I was not disappointed. Waiter was friendly and food was amazing. I got the rigatoni vodka and while I was unsure of how it would taste I was happily surprised. The creaminess of the pasta makes it perfect, and I would definitely get it again. Best Italian restaurant I’ve ever been to and I will be going back. I hope they stay open for a long time.

A small group of us went to Cappella last night to celebrate a friend's birthday; only she had been there before, and she knew that we would love it. Making a reservation was easy, the hostess who welcomed us was cordial and calm, and Sean (the waiter) made a great first impression. He was impressive during our entire meal, knowing the menu and timing his interactions with us beautifully--not hovering but consistently being available. The other staff members, including the manager, also were friendly and more than competent. And, yes, the cocktails, wine, and food were all excellent. Two of us particularly enjoyed the salmon. All five of us will be back.

We come to Capella often. We are so impressed that the owner is constantly behind the line watching everything. The food is phenomenal every time. The pasta is always perfect and al dente. The drinks are fantastic and the staff is amazing.

I work next door and frequently pop into Cappella after work for drinks/food with friends.
It's absolutely always a meal that I rave about, and the service is always fantastic.
Today we had the marinated olives, Parmesan with balsamic, shishito peppers, arancini and the broccoli gemelli pesto.
All were as delicious as expected, I always look forward to the arancini!
