The Common Room Reviews
Another awesome night at my favorite restaurant- chicken piccata was delicious with mash potatoes & asparagus - my spicy margarita was alive with flavor … the live music was starting & people were pouring in the doors & the night was happening… what an amazing experience & the best place to be!!!
Great Food great people, Awesome time. We were there about 7:00 o'clock Thursday night, the place was Full.
We went to the bar for a few drinks Waiting for a table. The bartenders were great, so we ended up staying at the bar. definitely recommend this place
Party of 3. Ordered:
- garlic and parm chicken tenders appetizer
- steak tip entree w/mashed and broccoli
- chicken parm with angel hair pasta
- Bbq burger w/fries
- 1 cocktail, 1 beer and a soda
No complaints! Atmosphere was trendy and stylish. The cocktail ordered was unique so the bartender personally came over (we were at a table on the dining side furthest from the bar area) to ensure he would make the cocktail correctly and to customer preference....read full review

The Common Room is a popular restaurant in the Needham area that offers a diverse menu featuring burgers, steak tips, eggplant parmesan, and chicken parmesan. The restaurant is known for its large and crispy chicken tenders, as well as its exceptional steak tips cooked to perfection. The chicken piccata with mashed potatoes and asparagus has also been praised for its delicious flavor. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and upbeat, with a good mix of music and TVs for sports fans. Live music is a highlight, adding to the lively environment, making The Common Room a favorite spot for a casual, fun dinner.
The restaurant's cocktails, like the spicy margarita, are vibrant with flavor, and the beer selection has received positive feedback. The owners strive to create a strong community feel, and the friendly and attentive staff ensure a pleasant dining experience. However, some customers noted that seating in the back area can feel like a dead space, with less privacy and a colder atmosphere, especially if seated in the back portion of the restaurant which can be less comfortable.
Recent visitors enjoyed the fun atmosphere and good food, with some appreciating the friendly service from staff like Miranda. The food has been described as very good, with specific praise for grilled salmon, steak tips, and a Caesar salad topped with turkey tips. The restaurant can be a bit slow to serve initially, but once attended to, the staff is attentive. Overall, The Common Room remains a great spot for drinks, burgers, and appetizers, and with consistent quality, it has the potential to become a mainstay in the community.
