Visited in July of 2015:The food was very good - it was a little less flavorful than ideal, but not problematically so, and that's really not a problem for a $10 lunch. Presentation was beautiful (See photo of rice pyramid), and I received exactly the right amount of food.The service was fast and nice - we walked in with 11 people without calling ahead and nothing got messed up at all. We were out within the hour. The waitstaff was patient and friendly, and it was nice to see that there was no gratuity added on to our bill (of course we tipped appropriately).The restaurant was clean and decently lit, and had a somewhat crisp atmosphere.Although I don't often sit down for meals in Needham, I would definitely return to this place if I find myself able to spend the time again.

Tried stopping by for lunch today, only to be greeted by a sign on the door that the restaurant has been shut down due to ongoing health code violations. Very disappointed to see this. They've been a favorite for a long time, but no more...

WTF?! THEY CANCELLED MY UBER EATS ORDER AFTER AN HOUR. I DROVE HERE TO PICKUP THE FOOD AND THE PLACE IS LOCKED UP TIGHT. NEVER AGAIN.

Do not give these people your business. They'll charge your card and never make your order. It has happened to us twice. The owner is an absolute j**** They don't care about their customers. No idea how they are still in business.

This place has gone down rapidly. I called the rice barn to put an order. The person who answered yelled loud “Go fast, I’m busy” and hung-up… I was shocked to hear that so called again just to make sure I didn’t call the wrong place… and heard it again “Go fast, I’m Busy” in the rudest way… as I started to order he hung-up again. This is totally unacceptable, and it looks like the owner wants to lose his business. He lost me as a customer for sure!

This place is also Thai Ai Ai on Uber eats. Do not place an order from Thai Ai Ai. They will refuse service if you use Uber eats. You will not receive your money back for up to ten days. Take your restaurant off these apps if you will refuse service. This can affect people's money.

Tried this restaurant based on a coupon from the entertainment book. The food was poor. Our crab rangoons and Thai spring rolls were way over done, even scorched looking. Two entrees ordered were just ok, have had much better at other Thai restaurants. The main issue was when presented with the check we expected to use a 25% off coupon from the entertainment book. We have used coupons from this source for years without any problem. The server mumbled something to the effect that they didn’t take them. When pressed an owner/manager came pretty close to embarrassing us. He accused us of getting coupon from someone else. I went to the car and got the whole coupon book where the discount coupon had come from. He claimed he didn’t know anything about being in this coupon book. But the Rice Barn is clearly in this Boston metro area edition and in the table of contents and the summary at the back of the book. I would not recommend this restaurant not only for the rude treatment but also because of the quality of the food

Really disappointed. Lunch boxes here are a joke. It's clear that this is a Chinese restaurant pretending to do fusion to set premium prices. I ordered a couple of different lunch boxes and they all tasted the same: too salty and ridiculously small when they are charging $17/box. I would post a pic of my vomit if I could ?. Rich Barn, you need to fire your chef ❌

We had dinner here and the food was tasty. The duck served in the green curry was delicious and my young daughters enjoyed the PadC-U with chicken. The service staff and owner were both friendly. It's clear after taking with the owner that he has a passion for his Thai culture and food.
