I love Chococoa's coffee and pastries, but I wanted to take a chance to highlight their whoopie pies. My husband and I had them as favors at our post-wedding brunch (at Allagash in Portland, Maine). Ordering and pick-up was so easy and they coordinated the ribbon color, and gave us signs for the display. Everyone raved about them at the brunch (notable as we also had Bite Into Maine, Tandem Bakery, and Rose Foods (if you know Portland, this is big)). Our gluten free guests especially, raved about how moist they were and scrambled to take the extras home with them!

Absolutely awful experience once again! Julie needs to loose her flippant attitude on the phone. If you want a place that consistently gets your order wrong and then gives you crap when it comes to correcting it then you found your place. No more, back to supporting the National chain in town. Use to really enjoy this place ….

Purchased a matcha latte which was the best I've ever had. Perfect temp which a lot of places don't prepare correctly. Also got the 5 dollar brownie which was phenomenal. Worth the $$$. My partner got an Americano which he loved.

Julie the owner saw me struggling on the stairs (I didn’t realize there was another entrance) and offered to bring up my order. I thanked her but told her I didn’t know what I wanted, so I would need to look.
When I got to the bottom the formerly empty dining area filled and I didn’t have my walker so I didn’t want to get bumped. I waited. The shop just kept emptying and refilling.
Julie came out of the kitchen a few minutes later and saw me sitting. She asked if I had been helped. I told her I had not. She asked what I wanted and I told her the passionfruit whoopie pie and she rung me up and even gave me an extra.
I felt so seen and cared for, and wanted to leave her a review to let her know how much that meant, but then I also took a bite out of the Whoopie pie and was blown away! This is HANDS DOWN the best whoopie pie I’ve ever tasted! The flavor is rich and deep and the ratio of filling to cake is just right.
Thank you Julie!!! I will be back!!!

Brown ice water???
Barista took my order correctly which was awesome! But what I got was mostly water, which was not awesome! I'm not sure what went wrong... but somewhere, somehow, an ice double dirty chai oat milk latte... turned into a pumpkin spice americano!!? $9 for water I tolerated as hydration on a hot day. No way there was a double shot of espresso in there. Yuck.
Service was curt and unfriendly. Ordered Cortado was served a macchiato. When mentioned barista said “same thing “ I have worked in the coffee business for 15 years and was highly disappointed for the good reviews. Maybe their baked goods are better than their baristas.

We go there weekly. The coffee is hot and fresh. I am a tea drinker and love the well blended London Fogs. The baked goods and pastries are lovely. We can attest to the croissant and muffins, love the morning glory. The atmosphere is relaxed, quiet and welcoming.
The service honestly kind of sucked but the food was really good
