We’ve live fairly close to this spot but for some reason, it wasn’t on our radar until today.
The food wasn’t just ‘the obvious Mexican food selections’. They had some really interesting plates.
I had the Octopus Zarandeado with a Shrimp Ceviche appetizer, both were excellent.
The also had a few Fall drink specials which were meticulously assembled and equally delicious.
The place has a quaint, tucked away feel and the service was great.
If you’re looking for Mexican with a bit of a twist, definitely put Port Vida on your list.

One of the best birria tacos I’ve eaten. The sabor a Mexico with the salsas also were perfect. Would definitely recommend

As a fellow local restaurant owner, I don’t get the chance to come in as often as I’d like, but I’ve always had tremendous respect for this place since they first opened. I’ve enjoyed their food and drinks on several occasions, and today I stopped in for a quick bite between appointments.

I was completely taken off guard (in the best way) to see lobster offered as an option with guacamole and chips. I love both, but I’d never thought of pairing them — other than maybe in a lobster taco. I had to try it, and it absolutely blew me away. Honestly, it beats ordering a lobster roll, and it was one of the most refreshing meals I’ve had all summer!

It was my first time in Newburyport and although I’m Latino Mexican food is never a bad idea for me. I came to this place twice, once for drinks and then to actually eat the food. So I’m going to start with the proper order.

The place is massive, it has two floors, different areas like a patio, two bars it’s a very huge establishment. They greet you at the entrance and if the place is not packed they give you a table right away.

The drinks are great but you wanna know the best of the drinking experience here? The bartenders. Flavio and Benny are the best and most kind bartenders you can find in Newburyport. The drinks are astonishing and the attention they give you makes you feel like you are a special customer.

I ordered some margaritas and some nachos, the margarita was delicious, strong but refreshing. The nachos were tasty and it was a very decent portion, the sauces are out of this world, the salsa verde is off the hook.

The second time I came I had some tacos Al pastor and they felt like Mexico City, 10/10, they give you the plate with two sides (Mexican rice and mashed beans) everything on point.

I won’t say it’s cheap but definitely worth it. I highly recommend visiting this place and if you go, do yourself a favor and get a drink on the bar from Flavio or Benny. You gonna thank me later.

Came here for my parents wedding reception (small party) and was seated in the private dining area (a table for 8).

Food: On point. Everything we ordered tasted fresh and amazing. Appetizers: We had an order of nachos with carnitas, queso with chorizo and the street corn. Highly recommend all three. Dinner: A few of us ordered enchiladas and others order both the steak and chicken fajitas. Rice was delicious and if you like a bit of kick, the poblano rice is a must. My mom was a huge fan of the Brochetas.

Drinks: if you like whiskey, order the El Jefe. You won’t regret it. The sangria was also very tasty. The only thing I wasn’t crazy about was the chocolate milk for my son’s meal. It’s made with syrup, but he’s also just very picky.

Atmosphere: fun. It’s beautiful both inside and out. Our waitress was so friendly and listened to all diet issues and pickiness in our party (my nana doesn’t like cilantro and our waitress made sure there was none on her food). The chairs at our dining table were so comfortable and even after two hours, we could have stayed another two.

Overall: Definitely a place I want to go to again. The menu has so many tasty options and I want to try everything. The location is great and you feel like family when you’re there. If you want great Mexican that tastes fresh, this is where you need to go.
