My “go to”. Best clam chowder and soups, friendly staff and nice location.

This is an old standby in Newburyport, Ma. It's a classic seafood restaurant that's stood a test of time. The exterior and upon first walking in, it's like a time capsule a bit dated, but it has a certain charm in that sense. The soups are phenomenal. Keep in mind it has a limited menu that is primarily seafood focused. The food is good, and they have a surprisingly sneaky good steak and cheese sub. The staff is friendly, and it has a locals cast during the off-season. On Wednesdays, they host a elderly cribbage tournament in a cute and comfy side room near the bar. If you love cribbage with a lisle food before, it's a must. Prices can be expensive which is because of their seafood focus, which puts a lot of meals at at market price which is fair.
Vegetarian options: Limited vegetarian options as it is seafood focused.
Parking: Can be a bit tricky to find parking at times, especially if busy.
Kid-friendliness: A good spot to bring kids, plenty of fried options for them to find a meal

This place is alright if you want a place to eat very good quality seafood for a large party of more than 4 people! The Fried Seafood Combo was crisp, light, and easy to digest. The chips, always delicious, but what I thought was lacking was the seasoning of the batter.
Salt or something. It was a bit bland. But the fish, clams, and squid? Fresh as it can get! Make sure to ask the server for Malt Vinegar because they don't keep it table side. Coleslaw as classic and mellow. Overall, I'll leave it up for you to decide!

Being from CT we wanted our Lobster Rolls cold, no mayo, with hot butter. According to the menu that is not how they serve them here. That was disappointing but just for the heck of it, I asked our server if we could get them that way, she said no problem at all. That was great and the rolls were ample and very good. We got a booth near the windows looking out at the water. Our food and our service were both great. We will return on our next trip to Newburyport.
Parking: Limited on street parking, plenty more in the back.

I work as an activities director at a senior living & went out to lunch with 15 of my residents. Our server was Kristine & her service was beyond incredible. She was so patient & kind with the residents & accommodated our whole group. I wish I could give more than 5 stars for the service that was provided by Kristine! She was amazing

I love the outdoor seating in this beautiful Port town. Very scenic. Great lobster roll and the onion rings were the best.

Worst fried clams. Over fried and most were missing bellies. Could hardly see 1/4” bellies so most must have fallen off in prep. Waitress was too busy socializing in group of 7 servers to attend to table. Calamari was good. Shrimp scampi had fried shrimp in batter? Won’t go back.

We came for lunch on the 4th of July. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The atmosphere was great. The only problem was absolutely tasteless food. We had broiled haddock which was hardly cooked and flavored, the green beans were cold and the onion rings tempura was not fully cooked either. Was a complete disappointment.
