The food was cold when served. I asked the waitress to heat it up, but it’s still the same after serving for the second time.

Unreliable. I'm not sure what's going on here, but 2 of the last 4 pickup orders have been 30+ minutes late, and no apology even, they just don't care. Once I can understand but this seems systemic.

Having dined in Hong Kong, Guangzhou, 8 other Chinese cities, as well as the Chinatowns of New York, San Francisco and Boston, I consider Ding’s Kitchen to faithfully capture the tastes and authenticity of these other culinary experiences.

I had dim sum at Ding’s today. It was outstanding! Very fresh, even during afternoon. Best I’ve had in the Boston area, including restaurants in Chinatown. Great service.

If you need to pack up leftovers at this restaurant, make sure to tell the server to use plastic containers for dishes with sauce. Otherwise, they’ll just put everything into flimsy paper boxes that leak easily. This isn’t the first time I’ve been both frustrated and amused by their packaging. Is the cost of plastic containers really so high that they’d rather risk losing customers? I honestly don’t get it. Except for soup, which obviously can’t go in paper boxes, they try to pack almost everything that’s left over into them. They don’t care if your food leaks on the way home, and sometimes the boxes aren’t even properly closed when you open the bag. Honestly, with the way they handle takeout—and the prices that don’t match such cheap packaging—I don’t think I’ll be going back, unless it’s food that doesn’t need to be packed up😅

Food was pretty average overall, and the only standout for me was the deep fried milk appetizer. Oddly, the fried milk was served after the cauliflower and roasted duck dishes. The restaurant was uncomfortably hot inside when I visited around 3 pm, even though only two other tables were eating hot pot. The furniture and dinnerware also felt cheap. On top of that, the front desk didn’t even say goodbye when we left, as she was too busy playing on her phone. Overall, I expected a much better dining experience.
