Been ordering bbq here for a year. This time I couldn’t get myself to eat this. I think they boiled or steamed it. It was chewy and really tough to pull apart. Hard pass and won’t go back ??

From a place with amazing BBQ, Blue Ribbon dropped to a place to get food when everything else is not available. The meat itself is undercooked and/or very tough to chew, and the sides are just pretty tastless fillers.
No longer recommending this to friends, unfortunately.

I ordered Catering for 60 people for a work event and it was a HUGE hit! Mish was so helpful in assisting me with placing my order from making recommendations on the best dishes to ensuring I had no worries on the day of my event. Everyone RAVED about the food. I fear I set the bar too high and now everyone wants me to cater Blue Ribbon every time so I just ordered again through Mish for our fall event and she was lovely and helpful as always. I can't recommend them more for catering!

2 reasons me and my PCA came here.
1) had wheelchair accessibility..
Unfortunately it's only to wheel in and out Nowhere to be able to set wheelchair and eat.
2) The food looked delicious.
I ordered chicken & ribs... Specifically dark meat chicken And rib W/ and on the bone..
I got white chicken breast and boneless ribs that were so fatty. The meat slipped off the fork.
Did I mention that my side order of dirty rice was so dry and crunchy I couldn't crush the rice with my teeth.
Had the call for the manager twice.
He came with the look of frustration. With no solution and really just didn't give a damn.
He didn't know what to do with the white chicken brush.
And he was sorry about the fatty boneless ribs.
Are you $%@@÷ing kidding me.
Left with my meal barely touched..
Would never recommend people that I care about to go in and spend their hard earned money For food and service that one is worse than the other.

This restaurant, franchise is very deceiving. If you order food on a Monday morning, they will send you leftovers from over the weekend. Especially if you order online, as they would automatically assume that it would be difficult for you to drive there and complain. Hence why you ordered online in the first place. They use that against you and blackmail you.
The same thing happened to me at a Blue Ribbon BBQ at Time Out Market in Fenway.
They sent me FLAVORLESS CHICKEN that tasted like it never went anywhere near a smoker, but only OVEN BAKED with POWDERED JERK SEASONINGS. SUPER DRIED BRISKET, BURNED CORNER PIECES of CORNBREAD.
Absolutely horrible experience. Somehow, they manage to get DOPRDASH to hide my review. Typical dirty merchant tactic.
Disgusting behavior. I feel RIPPED OFF
Good is OK. Good portions. However, for the love of God, please learn how to cook rice. I'm so sick of uncooked hard rice when I order.

this place is not good. Smoke shop is still the only good BBQ Ive had in Boston but I hoped this place would be good because I live nearby, no dice. Brisket tasted like it had been cooked in a gas oven and then dropped in a pile of salt.
Mashed potatoes were good.

So delicious! Portions are huge, so would strongly recommend sharing a duo/trio platter with someone if you're not the biggest eaters. My fiancé and I came here for dinner and we split the duo platter with ribs and sausage. I got a soup on the side as well. We were gorged by the end. Will definitely come back!

Restaurantji Recommends
Big portion of food, reasonable price and fast service, but the taste was a bit questionable compared to its rating.
Me and my company ordered one rib platter with coleslaw and mashed potato, and one chicken bbq platter with corn and baked beans.
Starting with the rib platter, I could tell it was smoke roasted by just having one bite. However, some of ribs were overcooked that it was more chewy than jerky. BBQ chicken was too salty and it was just disappointing.
If I were to recommend a menu or two, it’d be the ribs and cornbread, but nothing else. One last thing, they only have about 10-15 seats(not tables but seats), so it may be hard to find seats.

It's good, but not the best. The meat selections are good but the sides are just average. I had to fish a container of sauce out of the baked beans. Also the corn bread is very dry. If you're going for just meat sure but they could do better.

The food here is always good, and the specials are what you wouldn't always find at a BBQ joint. The BBQ taco platter is a favorite of mine

I’m putting my Texan card on the table. I wasn’t expecting Pit Room or Franklin’s-level quality, but had hoped it would be better than Famous Dave’s; it was, only slightly. Positive first: friendly folks, pleasant atmosphere, and more than ample portions (seriously, you can feed two on one meal). They are also generous with price. Up the quality, up the price and lower the portion. And…… let’s start with brisket 101, smoke. That was lacking. In fact, I put my nose to the air while approaching the restaurant sniffing for that ever-loving smell of mesquite and hickory. Not even post oak. It was not in the air; perhaps they smoke off site. If so, you need more wood! Next, no bark on the meat and it is void of that tell tale sign of black pepper and salt. I watched a full packer brought to the carving table. It wasn’t appropriately trimmed and shaped pre-smoke. Let aerodynamics be your friend. I had asked for moist at the register. Perhaps that was simply a north-south translation error. Moist in BBQ joints means the point, not the flat. They gave me all flat. That would be fine I suppose, except it was pretty evident the cut is USDA Choice. It makes the meat cost effective, but at the sacrifice of fat. The meat was over cooked. It should pull apart, not fall apart. It should also stand on its own without sauce.Sides: great potato salad. 8 out of 10. Slaw wasn’t worth a second bite and the corn bread could break windows if thrown. Sweet tea was pleasantly not too sweet. Sauce was fine. Nothing noteworthy.
