Went on a Sunday night and everything was amazing. The server was extremely kind and he was very attentive. The flavors in everything were perfect. The best stroganoff I’ve ever had. The ambience is a really great vibe. Can’t wait to go back.
Authentic food and a Soviet vibe brought me good nostalgia. Highly recommended!
You can’t go wrong here, best food in Newton hands down
Excellent food, atmosphere and great service! If you are looking for a place where you can spend a beautiful evening and try delicious food from eastern Europe and Central Asia, it’s the place! Excellent for corporate parties, bday parties and date night! Highly recommend it!
This cafe is an absolute gem. The atmosphere is warm and full of heart—you can feel the care in every corner, from the beautiful, fresh design to the energy of the space. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel at home the moment you walk in.
They used to serve a mushroom soup that tasted exactly like my grandma’s—rich, comforting, and full of love. It brought back memories in the most beautiful way.
The vegetarian options are plentiful and every single dish is bursting with flavor. Everything tastes authentic, like it was made from recipes passed down through generations. You can truly taste the roots.
The space is also stunning—clean, fresh, and elevated, but still cozy. A perfect balance.
Highly, highly recommend. It’s more than a cafe—it’s an experience.
This is an excellent spot to try some Eastern European or mostly Russian food in the heart of newton.
Parking can be tricky with all that’s happening in the Langley lot and surroundings and it’s not so easy to find the entrance - the new management has done some work to make it easier to find but it could be easier if there was some more signs for first time visitors.
Once you are in - the ambiance is a but “cavern-like” but the service and food will more than make up for it.
We went back recently as we were told by friends that there is a new management and food and service has become better if anything.
It is all true - the same great food and really warm service…
The caviar starter and the chicken liver pate - which was served with honey and salt - were great and the drinks are tasty - and strong! (My wife asks for them to make it half strength every time!)
Mains were excellent - though the stroganoff was not quite as good as I’ve had before.
I don’t know how many times I would recommend a side dish specifically but the risotto side dish is a MUST try. They are also super generous with the bread which was all excellent.
Desserts are all generous portions and very good
We will be back again and this seems to be one of those management changes that don’t alter the soul of the place.
First time there, waiter was very personable explained all the different options would definitely go back there
I would highly recommend this restaurant. I've lived in Boston ten years and never heard of it. My co-worker is Russian and Ukranian and told me about it. First, lots of unique and authentic dishes, and excellent dessert. My favorites were the caviar and the Solyanka soup. Second, the service is really good. You can tell the staff are very happy and energetic. Third, the ambience is fun. People are singing and dancing and its a unique experience. I would go back again for sure!
Every dish was excellent from the blini with salmon to the rack of lamb to the pelmeni. This place always takes me to the classic Euro restaurant with a Russian spin.
We first enjoyed the food at café Saint Petersburg about 18 years ago. At that time, we were so fantastically amazed at how wonderful the cuisine was – – this type of food was new to us. We have returned every year since, and I believe that we have always had the same waiter, who is one of the biggest reasons why we keep returning. His name is Sergei and he has always made us feel at home; that is a very special gift. I hope the establishment understands what a true ambassador he is for your venue. Thank you Sergei! (I apologize if I am not spelling your name correctly :)

Borscht was the best I've ever had! Atmosphere was lively. Ambiance is good for both a family dinner or a date night out.
This was our first time trying Russian food and for most part we were surprised how flavorful it was. The service was really great, friendly staff! Definite try!
I absolutely love this place! The food is delicious and authentic, with a variety of classic Russian dishes that are full of flavor. The service is amazing, and the staff is super friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home. The music adds such a great atmosphere, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy great Russian cuisine and a fun, lively ambiance!
Great, unique food and drinks; service was good; very nice environment. This was our first visit and look forward to retuning.
The food was good, though we were surprised to be the only table there.
